The lead singer of a Christian rock band, Jon Steingard, and the son of a pastor just announced on Instagram that he no longer believes in God. There's a steady stream of modern Christian Music performers announcing they no longer believe. The stream is just the top of the iceberg (sorry to mix metaphors). For everyone who announces they no longer believe, there are more who quietly go away or continue in the industry pretending to believe.
Last year, Marty Sampson, a worship music writer, singer, and member of Hillsong which produces lot of the music used in churches today said this:
Time for some real talk. I’m genuinely losing my faith, and it doesn’t bother me. Like, what bothers me now is nothing. I am so happy now, so at peace with the world. My comment: A sane person leaving the faith would not happy about it. They would miss the hope that is in Christ and the fellowship with other Christians. Or, at least, they'd be sad with regret for the time they think they wasted in Christianity.
How many preachers fall? Many. No one talks about it. How many miracles happen. Not many. No one talks about it. Why is the Bible full of contradictions? No one talks about it. How can God be love yet send four billion people to a place, all ‘coz they don’t believe? No one talks about it. My comment: Anyone on this planet shouldn't have any trouble finding people talking about these things.
Science keeps piercing the truth of every religion. My comment: It's really dumb to reason that for Christianity to be true, mutually exclusive religions must also be true.
When I start having issues of faith, it really helps me to read the lame reasoning of ex-Christians. PS, I hate Hillsong "music", therefor I'm happy he's not producing any more of that shallow dreck.
