Christian timeline and the bible

Im sure this has been discussed before on here, but forgive me im new. So Ive been doing some research and I see that BEFORE the church was established christians were looking for enlightment and then years later the church was formed. So how were the two different? Did things change when the church was founded? Such as ideas and principles?

Ive also read about books being taken out of the bible by those in charge in the early ages. This i have a big problem with. How does one man have the authority to do such a thing? Just because he thinks it doesnt fit or flow with the rest of the books. And how does one believe that the bible hasnt been mistranslated in some parts or that someone didnt change something to their liking? I was reading that in Genesis a verse says "and the earth was without form and void" when the real translations says "and the earth BECAME void". Theres a big difference, you could use that to explain extinction of the dinosaurs if u wanted. Yes i know you are to study the bible, but how am i to know if im studying the misinterpreted bible or the incomplete bible? And if we know books were taken out, how come they arent being added back into the King James bible?

Nothing has been taken out. The books that are usually said to have been taken out were, in fact, never in there in the first place. The Old Testament Apocrypha was never an official part of the Canon for Jews or early Christians. There was no New Testament compiled until the early 4th century. If there was no New Testament at all, how could they have taken anything out of it?

For the sake of clarification what is your definition of the church?
