Christianities main advantage over Islam/Jewish faith...

To be quite honest they are all similar in the sense of following the OT Ten Commandments to a certain extent... (although this is contradicted daily by suicide bombers and oil wars)

They are also similar in their definition of sin and what the "problem" with man is...

But the one main thing Christianity has over the other two Abrahamic religons is a better sacrifice and convenant....

Muslims still kill livestock to cover sin and the Jews reject a better sacrifice in Christ....

Christ is a better option to "wash away sins" than a goat or a sheep or whatever else...

Wrong about Islam.

Generally they follow pretty much the same thing as the OT commands..

Religious Issues in the Ten Commandments
Islam does not accept the absolute authority of the Bible, teaching that it has become corrupted over the years, and therefore it does not accept the authority of the listing of the Ten Commandments that appears in the Bible. Islam does, however, accept the status of both Moses and Jesus as prophets, which means that the commandments are not completely ignored, either.

One verse in the Quran makes what is probably a very general reference to the Ten Commandments:

"And We ordained laws for him in the tablets in all matters, both commanding and explaining all things, (and said): 'Take and hold these with firmness, and enjoin thy people to hold fast by the best in the precepts'..." 007.145
There is also a section of the Quran where several commands very similar to the Ten Commandments can be found:

Say, come, I will recite what God has made a sacred duty for you: Ascribe nothing as equal with God;

Be good to your parents;

You shall not kill your children on a plea of want; we provide sustenance for you and for them;

You shall not approach lewd behavior whether open or in secret,

You shall not take life, which God has made sacred, except by way of justice and law. Thus does God command you, that you may learn wisdom.

And you shall not approach the property of the orphan, except to improve it, until he attains the age of maturity.

Give full measure and weight, in justice; no burden should be placed on any soul but that which it can bear.

And if you give your word, do it justice, even if a near relative is concerned; and fulfill your obligations before God. Thus does God command you, that you may remember.

Verily, this is my straight path: follow it, and do not follow other paths which will separate you from God's path. Thus does God command you, that you may be righteous. (6:151-153)

Thus, while Islam doesn’t exactly have its own "Ten Commandments," it does have its own versions of many of the basic prohibitions given in the Ten Commandments. Because they accept the Bible as an earlier revelation of God they don’t object to things like displays of the commandments in public spaces. At the same time, though, they aren’t likely to see such displays as a religious duty or necessity because as described above they don’t accept the absolute authority of the Bible.

Again, wrong about Islam

In Islam, a sin is an act against the will of Allah. We have the ability to abide by His will and this is the meaning of the word Islam. Still we have the ability to ignore His will or deliberately oppose it; due to the fact that God has given us freedom - though within limits).

In contrast to the Christian teaching that human nature is basically evil [owing to the Original Sin], Islam teaches that it is essentially good. There are many elements to Human nature and each one has the potential to bring benefits. So there is no "Original Sin" in Islam. It is that when Man contradicts God’s commandments or His will, he commits sins.

Gary, although no Original Sin, Islam still has the concept of transgression against the will of God..... That was my point....

So clearly with 3 incorrect premises, your conclusion means nothing even if it does contain some truth about our Lord Jesus Christ.

Your right on this one....

Sacrifice in Islam
An animal sacrifice in Arabic is called Qurban. However this word has a pagan connotation in some places (however, in India, the word qurbani is used for Islamic animal sacrifice). In the islamic context an animal sacrifice is usually referred to as Udhiyah meaning sacrifice. Udhiyah, as a ritual, is offered only in Eid ul-Adha. The Muslims say that this has nothing to do with blood and gore (Quran 22:37: "It is not their meat nor their blood, that reaches Allah. it is your piety that reaches Him..."). The sacrifice is done to help the poor, and in remembrance of Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son (according to the Muslims, Ishmael) at God's command. The sacrificial victim may be a lamb, a sheep, a goat, a camel or a bull. The animal must be healthy and conscious. The Islamic system of slaughter is called zibah (or dhibah)â€â€in the name of Allah, the throat of the animal is slit for slaughtering. The meat is distributed to relatives and to the needy.

Note that in Islam, it is obligatory to eat only meat that washas slaughtered (sacrificing) in the Islamic way (in the name of Allah). Only such meat is considered Halal and hence fit for consumption.

Allright heres another advantage...

The most obvious one..

Since you are saved by Grace it really doesnt matter how much you screwed up or how ignorant you are...

Grace is not stressed in the other two...

In fact the more meek, sinful, and pathetic you are the more grace abounds!

Jesus gots your back.

Too bad He isnt healing my girlfriends Ulcers though!

Somo-Sight, seems like 3-4 of my posts in this section of the forum were deleted by the now ex-Mod, Lyric's Dad.

I will reconstruct my responses a bit later. OK?

Kind regards
Gary
