A lot of Americans fought and died for the freedom that flag represents my friend..

Freedom? What freedom?
While it is true that many put on uniforms and served the Stars and Stripes, as did I (and was permanently injured in the process), the act does not constitute personal salvation or symbolize the grace of God dispensed toward all men. Neither does it constitute our primary allegiance. My primary allegiance is to Christ and I render to Him that respect and admiration and worship that is due to Him. The flag is, after all, a temporary symbol of an empire in decline. The Kingdom of God rises from glory to glory.
Americans have denied this except in lip service on Sunday morning (maybe). Christians in this land have betrayed their God given rights for a bowl of stew - only a few of whom realize that they are eating and drinking poison, not peace or prosperity. We have neither peace nor prosperity today. Yet we go on believing, without justification, that we do. Christians are the most politically and spiritually deluded of all the citizens of America because they have willingly accepted the lie. The others don't know any better. Who will be judged with the most severity?
"Judgment begins in the house of the Lord."
- Jesus 1 Peter 4:17
The liberty that many fought for is waning. The tide of freedom in America is receding and the most evil part of that is that many, including those that fought for it in the first place, refuse to acknowledge the proper place of politics in one's life. God first! Everything else is of lesser importance. Will you carry your flag into heaven or will the blood of Christ admit you to the halls of grace? THINK.
Those who's moral principles are depraved and vile have insinuated themselves into our political system, into our businesses, into our family lives and our children's lives and even into our churches. There is no sanctuary from the abomination of desolation that these people bring to society. They cry freedom for themselves, while the liberty once enjoyed by others is swept aside.
Freedom? What freedom?
America is losing its liberty because we have denied God - EVEN IN CHURCH. Sermons preach situation ethics, the prosperity gospel, the name-it-and-claim-it gospel, NOT the cross. Patriotism is lauded (discipleship is mentioned only in an invitation to attend Sunday School), veterans are honored (I am one, but I do not stand - I did not serve so as to become a prop for cheap theatrics) but the name of Christ is not mentioned at all when it comes to allegiance. America is actively denying the name of God, which ought to be respected IN THE HIGHEST. Public prayer is illegal. Public expressions of our love of Christ, such as the nativity scene, is forbidden as is THE RIGHTEOUS LAW OF GOD (the 10 commandments, not the less-than-a-dozen-suggestions). Morality is a four letter word. God Himself is denied (one cannot advance his career in academic life and be an outspoken believer - I know because I work for a college.)
Freedom? What freedom?
Liberty begins with CHRIST, not a flag. The flag has its place to be sure, BUT NOT IN CHURCH. But Protestant Christians, like their kin in NAZI Germany, believe the flag is more important. Death comes from the flag. Life comes from Christ.
It is time to choose between the two. You can love the fleshly symbols of power or you can love the heavenly symbol of eternal life, but you CANNOT have them both. It is time to choose. God watches. What will you do?
and that's me, hollering from the choir loft...
