To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Dave,

Is that you own interpretation?

Other countries are not like children. We don't have the right to judge other countries without even knowing what is going on. You are still avoiding my question: Do you know exactly what is going between the countries?
I know that Muslims are killing their own. How much more evidence do you need than murder of the innocent? How is it that the passivists can justify themselves by ignoring murder? How can anyone who claims to have compassion turn away from the terrible crimes that Muslim extremist carry out. Faith without works is dead (James 2:17 & 20).

You talk about love, yet you sit here, a world away, and question the motives of those men and women who are being killed as they try to bring freedom to the Iraqis.

If you don't believe that God has called you to serve in the military, that's fine. And I encourage you to be obedient to His leading. However, I know of several Christians who have been called into the military. How is it that you presume to hold them to your personal conviction.

To go or not has nothing to do with advancing the Kingdom of God. It's all about obedience. During Desert Storm, there were hundreds who accepted Jesus as their Savior. How would they have heard if there had been no one to preach? (Romans 10:15)

Hi Joy

No, not mine. this is from Ecclesiastes chapter three. Solomon wrote it, so did the Holy Spirit. NKJV

thank you David, There are so many Scriptures conflicting with each other in between OT and NT.

When that happens I always pick what NT says. Jesus says clearly "love your enemy as yourself"

When I'm confronted with passages that seems to contradict each other, I have to tell myself that my interpretation of one or the other, or both is wrong. The Bible, God's Word is infallible. This is a perfect time to look a little closer and study the context more carefully. I've had some amazing studies that were very beneficial and revealing while confronting what appeared to be contradictions in scripture.

God is truth, so if we love God and seek Him, we must also love the truth and seek it honestly, otherwise we are just paying lip service, no? Jesus said "thy Word is truth". We cannot search through His Word and in effect tell Him that we will only accept Him on our terms, picking the scripture that suits us, and discarding the rest. When we pick and choose what our flesh wants to believe, that is nothing more than creating an idol, calling it God and saying, now I will worship you.

With all your heart mind and soul, Joy. Be careful.

God bless.

David,

Trust me, I am very carful what I protest because it will affect everything: My walk with God and how I influence others for the Glory of God. No one has to tell me to be careful. This my main business with the Lord!
