Growth Christmas Without A Thing

Christmas Without A Thing

This Christmas finds me emotionally unmoved concerning all the parties, gifts, and other usual festive goals we set for our Christmas celebrations.

Because of circumstances of economic hardship there is little anticipation of any kind of holiday merriment that can be sustained for any length of time.

Despite this fact I did set up a manger scene to depict the arrival of our salvation in the person of the infant Jesus Christ.

While I was doing this the Holy Spirit barged into my self pity and announced that I have indwelling in me the very spirit that was with Jesus Christ from his conception in the womb of Mary to his crucifixion on the cross to his death and resurrection from the grave.

Just imagine that people all over the world are fretting about being invited to this or that Holiday celebration and being with important and noteworthy people. And yet I have indwelling in me God's Holy Spirit that was with Jesus Christ on the very day that Jesus Christ was born.

My Christmas celebration is with the Holy Spirit that helped make my salvation possible and has invited me to be with the very person who was born on Christmas Day so many years ago, Jesus Christ.

Frankly I don't need a thing for Christmas except the knowledge that I've been forgiven of all my sins and that I'm already been invited to the greatest Christmas celebration in the Universe. It's a celebration with the indwelling Holy Spirit who has been there in the beginning when the earth was formed, when Jesus Christ came into this world, and then experienced the horror as Jesus Christ was made sin on the cross for my salvation.

Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and then you'll be invited to the greatest Christmas celebration in the Universe when the indwelling Holy Spirit opens the celebration doors to eternity with Jesus Christ as the host.

God Bless

It's been a tradition since my kids were little to sing 'Happy Birthday' to Jesus on Christmas. The kids were taught the true reason for Christmas. Nowadays, our little tradition continues on each Christmas, with my grandchildren participating. They know who Jesus is, and they know that Jesus is the reason for this season...and every season to come.

Thanks real nice Air Dancer, many sadly miss on Xmas and get caught in materialism.... how good a tradition to remember Jesus especially why He came to earth to save sinners like you and me.... God bless your ministry to your family

Shalom

Thank you, rthom7.

Since none of us know the total number of days we are each given in this lifetime, I didn't want to wait to share my faith with my kids. They have the same idea about the way it is, and have continued our tradition with their families.

The first time my older daughter spent Christmas with her new in-laws, she lit a candle and asked everyone to join her in singing Happy Birthday to Jesus. There were some surprised people in that large gathering, but everyone joined in. There were some questions later, as you can imagine. Now it's part of her in-laws' tradition as well.

As Christians, we are to share the good news of our Lord with everyone. Sometimes something as simple as a birthday song can make the difference in another's life.

What a simple touching and sincere ministry you have and share.... thanks for the faith of a child that God wants from us all.... it must be good to have children who have fondly caught your faith in Jesus as well.... Shalom
