psalm 89, verse 45:45 You have cut short the days of his youth;
you have covered him with a mantle of shame.
Selah

46 How long, O LORD ? Will you hide yourself forever?
How long will your wrath burn like fire?
47 Remember how fleeting is my life.
For what futility you have created all men!
48 What man can live and not see death,
or save himself from the power of the grave [5] ?
Selah
49 O Lord, where is your former great love,
which in your faithfulness you swore to David?
50 Remember, Lord, how your servant has [6] been mocked,
how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations,
51 the taunts with which your enemies have mocked, O LORD ,
with which they have mocked every step of your anointed one.

52 Praise be to the LORD forever!

clearly this is about the King, this whole psalm. also clearly, this has not happened yet, at least not 2000 years ago.

:

The verses that you quoted are all fulfilled in Christ Jesus.

The similarities of how God treated David and Jesus Christ.
Jesus knew from the Psalms, how He would be treated in His life on this earth.
verse 38-45 "Your Anointed" vs 46-52 David

  • Acts 13:21-22
22 "After He had removed him [Saul], He raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testified and said, ' I HAVE FOUND DAVID the son of Jesse, A MAN AFTER MY HEART, who will do all My will.'

i think its overly stretched if we call killed at age 32 or 33 'youth'.
talking about shortening, hnothing was shortened for he lives on forevermore.
