2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
There are 3 different times in Biblical history, 2 past and one future, where God has/will call His people out. Jesus referred to both occasions in the past as examples of the time to come .
Lu 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
How difficult it was for Noah to convince those of his generation to turn away from all they had known, to give up the sin and wickedness that had become such a controlling feature of their lives.
How difficult it was for the angels to convince Lot and his family to leave Sodom. Lot could not convince his relations in the city, his wife "left her heart in San Francisco", and Lot and his daughters had to be 'angel-handled' to get out in time.
On both these occasions the result for those left behind was destruction. What was God doing here? Was it His intent to destroy people? Many view God as cruel because of incidents such as these. But what is the truth? Read the following carefully.
Gen 19:15 ¶ And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
Note that the iniquity of the city was to be consumed. Lot was saved because he grieved in his heart for all the unrighteousness of the city. The same with Noah's generation. It was the violence and the wickedness that God hated, and which He decided needed to be destroyed. He used Noah and Lot to try and convince their neighbours etc to separate themselves so as not to be caught up in the impending destruction. To separate themselves from that which is unclean. From sin and wickedness.
Ezek 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
While keeping in mind the attitude of Noah's and Lot's generations to the warnings of God's impending judgement, read ...
2 Peter 3:3 ¶ Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
It is imperative that we sound the alarm. But sadly, not everyone will listen, but we can be hugely encouraged and assured that as the Lord Himself stood next to Abraham as Abraham interceded on behalf of Sodom, and responded favourably to his prayers on behalf of the people, so He hears us when we intercede on behalf of those who need to come out of Babylon. Rest assured. Babylon will be destroyed. And the only way to ensure your future wellbeing is to separate completely from the sins, practices, traditions and teachings that Babylon is to afflict the final generation with.
Sin in all it's forms and in all it's evil manifestations must be shunned at all costs. It is God's intention to destroy all sin from the universe. If anyone holds onto any sin, no matter how seemingly trivial, they will be destroyed along with the sin.
Isa 55:6 ¶ Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
