LOL! That makes it very rich! It is not the only time I've heard of issues happening during maintenance but it will not make one feel good in any case.

It actually worked out well. My delivery date actually got extended till next Tuesday and I was able to sit with one of our very talented college graduates and he showed me a much better way to code so the jobs are reusable.
Basically, I have 11 jobs for this set and the data gets transformed in the same way for each. The biggest difference is the source of the data designated by country.

Instead of writing 11 similar jobs, I can now use this single job to do the job of all 11. God was looking out for me! And I learned a lot of cool things today!

It's all about the metadata! Blows my mind!

I live in florida,I should be wearing glasses because my eyes muscles correct my near sightseeing. Yet no problem.

I know you guys get a lot of overcast down there. I think it was the overcast that really bothered my eyes.

I actually get to go down a level for my right eye and up a level for my left. Doc says I still have decent eyes, but I'm loosing my ability to refocus. The computer glasses I'm getting are taylored for about 2 feet away. Much closer or further and they won't be much help.

Wow! I'm sure it sharpens your short term memory though. Since I've been programming again my short term memory has gotten much better.... Except today cause my mind is mush lol

I memorize the numbers to input as I input them walking way.the routes I remember as I do them.I uses to have pray requests and post the route limits. I did one route I haven't done in a year last week.it came back and the way I do it.

I known to remember adresses and customer names.it's weird on some routes.the paper route and my meter routes I have done are where I know the most names.

That's cool. I love it when I am in a groove and can glance at a 7 didget number and type it in.
Our database tables are a different story. Some are like small novels. What really sucks is when you have two long names that are almost the same....

We have a look up function.it's a sequence we punch in,l31,locate by ,then adress,sometimes two meters will come up and I think I'm on the water or electric as the numbers are the same but not adress.

I have look for a w or e ,try thar when you can't see the screen

My eyes are important to my line of work, can't read I'm gone.if you knew what a demand read was you would have noticed.



One mentioned eye problems
My job uses machines. I input in rain and mud and dirt.they will lock up,loose reads.
I also read numbers in reverse, try reading even smaller font then an eye test at the same distant in a rush .it won't happen.

This string is about computers and the remarks about eyes were in jest. Come on brother, that ladies army of today hasn't ruined you, has it? And, really, I'm not picking. And as far a eyes go, that is a large portion of why the Government took my CDL and it has a good deal to do with me not building units for young people any more but none of that is about the topic. you see that don't you?

I love it when things like that happen. But I'm not going to try to learn any more because everything must be on my desktop for study, even my 13 point font NASB is a strain for me to read and on my computer everything is in 20 point or larger, depending on the font. And then when the left eye bloats and the right one doesn't it is really trying to keep only my right open to read. I loved programming and I loved building units to give away to kids but my day is over on these points. But the world never had and will never have enough good programmers so keep on keeping on.
