I'm looking for some feedback.
I would like to hear what other people do for computer security.
I am looking for easier to use, better results, and cheaper in price.

I use Microsoft Essentials.
Then I use AVG to clean everything up.
These things are free.

Then I use SpyHunter4 for malware, etc.
This program costs me about $70.00 every six months.

What happens is every month or so my computer slows down with a few glitches and I have to run this SpyHunter program.
It takes about 2 hours or so but fixes everything fine.

What about you?
Is there a better way?

I have been using BitDefender for a few years now. No complaints. If you get the security suite it not only comes with a firewall, but also anti-virus, anti-malware, and some utility features that keep your computer running more cleanly.

Three simple rules:

1) Use an operating system not prone to viruses, no need for tune-ups, no slow-ups, or incompatibilities (which is about anything except MS)
2) Have a good hardware firewall and security -- set up your WIFI router so that it's not cracked easily either in the air or online.
3) Have good passwords (not only your accounts but your router as well) -- can't stress this enough. One way to make a good password is to use the first letter in a sentence you can remember. For example, the sentence "I shovelled two feet of snow in Cleveland today. Becomes:
Is2fosiCt. You can also incorporate symbols such as @ for a or ! for I, etc.

That's it. Guaranteed you will not have a problem and your computer will hum along just fine as fast and secure as day one. Or let's put it this way: nothing is 100% but you probably won't die on an airplane flight, either, in your lifetime, but you could. Similar comparison.

That should do it. Simple enough. Now get to work. :lol
