This was not a pointless effort. I held back hoping some would take it up and make points. Now I regret that I held off but I guess both of us should have known, with the Millennials, all traces of contextual consideration has disappeared. It is, perhaps, the single most important consideration when reading the scriptures and yet, it is not taught in any American schools and, as nearly as I can tell, not in any schools around the world.
I was instructed, by a group of 6 Elders, that first rule I post all the time, "No scripture can ever be, fully, understood without the light of all other scripture shinning on it." That, single, rule of Hermeneutics screams context and yet I am, forever, beseeched with, are you serious type comments.
Hang in there Dan and do as the Spirit leads you to do. You will stand out if you do but always remember, we are called to be a peculiar people and there will be few that enter into the Narrow Gate.
