Could Christ have sinned?

I came across the view that Christians do not believe that Christ could have sinned and failed in his mission on earth. Well then how could he be 'tempted in the desert'? Was it all a charade or could Christ have sinned?

He was human, too, and the devil tempted him with ideas and avenues that would keep Him from His mission. The physical temptations were there, too, for he was hungry but would not use His miracle powers to do things normal humans couldn't do "just for the kick of it". He wanted to go thru every human experience that's common to his fellow man.

It's not a sin to be tempted. It's what you do with the idea of the temptation that sets you apart. He quickly answered Satan each time with the Word of God. And God's Holy Spirit gave Him power to overcome the temptations. No, Christ never sinned. We have faith that God sent a perfect, unblemished human, God's only Son, for our sins anyway. So part of this is believing by faith.
