Anybody watch "Cranford", the 3 part miniseries, on PBS, last night?
I did, it was very entertaining. Nothing offensive. A series any Christian could watch.
A three-part adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell's "Cranford," about life in an 1840s Cheshire village. Judi Dench and Eileen Atkins star as sisters Matty and Deborah Jenkyns who, in the opener, welcome an old friend (Lisa Dillon) to live with them.
I really enjoy the talented actress, Judi Dench, the woman who plays Matty. JUDI DENCH. She did a marvelous job as Queen Victoria, in the tv movie, titled: Mrs. Brown
It's really good, and it's a true story!!
The name of the movie is Mrs. Brown, but, its a true story about Queen Victoria, and Judi Dench does a fantastic job.
So does Billy Connolly, who plays her household servant. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119280/plotsummary
While on an extended stay at Balmoral Castle and still in mourning over the death of her beloved Prince Albert, Queen Victoria meets Mr. Brown, a member of her household staff who thinks the time has come for her to start living a normal life. He soon gains the Queen's favor and friendship and his authority and status in the household are soon on the rise. This creates concerns among the Queen's many advisers who see their own influence diminishing and the Queen's reputation being tarnished. As a result, they move to ensure Mr. Brown's future influence in the household is kept in check.
