“Dance With The Devil or
Walk With Godâ€Â
I like to watch boxing and mixed martial arts. Always have and still do, even as a Christian. It’s not just any type of fighting that I appreciate. For instance, the fighting that takes place in hockey games I find to be out of anger and bad sportsmanship, whereas, these martial artists are trained and prepared for physical battle...that's what they're supposed to do. Today’s UFC and Pride Fighting Championships, and other fighting organizations I find to be quite entertaining and I usually watch most of them.

We just watched a fight card with one of the matches being between Fedor Emelianenko and Tim Silvia. I was hoping for Tim Silvia. Mainly because I’m just waiting for someone to beat Fedor…who usually wins. Well, Fedor took Tim out in 36 seconds! And this is where I got the title of this latest message…

One thing about Fedor is that he comes out to WIN and to DOMINATE! His mind-set is not to dance around and spar with his opponent, but to get in there as quickly as possible and HURT the other guy! To beat him up and beat him down…as quickly and effectively as possible! It’s his mind-set! He’s done his training and sparring, and now it’s time to dominate this other person...put him out of commission and go home!

As I was thinking about this it came to me that this needs to be our mind-set spiritually, as we approach the things of God and go about doing His will and furthering His Kingdom.

We need to START with an attitude of victory and domination over the enemy, over falsehoods and deception! We are not here to “spar†or “dance†or “feel out†our enemy and give him a fighting chance. We are not expected to “reason with†the enemy or his followers. When God, in His Word, says, “come, let us reason together,†He’s talking to His people, not to the world or the devil.

He wants us to START with Truth and go into battle armed and ready to dominate and possess the land! Push back the darkness relentlessly as Light shines forth from our speech and conduct…from our very lives!

Once we’ve sought the face of God and laboured through to various levels of Revelation and Character, God expects us to start there and “walk circumspectly… redeeming the time… understanding what His will is.†(Ephesians 5:15,16,17)

Why do I say all this? Because there are so many who seem to enjoy “dancing with the devil.†They seem to love sparring with the enemy and feeling each other out, reasoning and debating over doctrine, going around in theological and intellectual circles. Frankly, I hate it. What a waste of precious time!

It is actually a form of “flirting†with the enemy and can very easily lead to spiritual fornications and adultery. You are at least defiling yourselves to indulge in such behaviour, and displeasing the God Who purchased you with His blood.

We are not supposed to be “dancing with the devilâ€Â, but rather, WALKING WITH GOD! Jesus already “bruised His heel on the serpents head,†and he (the devil) will soon be “bruised (crushed) under the feet†of the many-membered Body of Christ. (Romans 16:20)

Once you are married to someone, you are to no longer flirt with others, but carry on with your spouse single-mindedly, with loyalty of heart and purpose, building a life together. And God expects no less of us as being “married†to Jesus! (Romans 7:4)

Once we become established in certain Truths…once we are enlightened and have come to grips with various foundational doctrines, God expects us to “go on to perfection†from there (Hebrews 6:1), being effective and constructive for His glory. Not hanging around the skirts of denominations and playing footsies with the gainsayers! Not getting into futile debatings and intellectual surmisings with those who presume to challenge even God.

“But hold fast the faithful Word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by SOUND DOCTRINE both to exhort and convince the gainsayers.†(Titus 1:9)

One thing that is so very needful is the discerning of motives when it comes to people’s questionings and objections to our beliefs. Remembering that it is only God who can reveal Truth to people. We need only convey what He has revealed to us…soundly, firmly and Scripturally, refusing to be led into a long drawn out debate or discussion.

God forbid! that we 'give the lead' to carnally-minded individuals who love to dance the dance of intellectualism...to the tune of education and compromise!

Let us at least show these intellectuals that we are BAD dancers...and STEP ON SOME TOES!!!

Like I said, let us not be found “dancing with the devilâ€Â, but rather “walking with Godâ€Â, leaving behind those who choose relativity over absolutes. Leaving behind those who would rather dance with the devil than walk with God!…those who would rather waste away their lives theorizing and debating, rather than seeking, finding and cherishing Truth…which is given by the revelation of God’s Spirit.

God is raising up a people whose hearts are at peace and rest, and whose minds are “stayed on Christ.†Those whose minds are anchored and established and satisfied with True Streams of Revelation.

Once a genuine river of Revelation and a true fountain of Grace has been found, let us “put down anchor†and stay focused on the purpose of God for that season.

Restless minds are the devil’s play-ground! Idle hearts are the devil’s nest-eggs for deception and self-will.

In this hour of distress and compromise it behoves s to be strong, unfailing beacons of Light…exposing the insincerity of the carnal and the malice of the wicked.

“Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us:
“Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and Truth.†1 Corin. 5:7,8

I enjoyed it, it was a little punchy....j/k

Seriously, it gives a good message.
