Daniel chapter 7...

Well since its 1-1/2 hours long, I don't want to invest the time. However I am familiar with the speaker, he is SDA (seventh day adventist). I don't agree with their interpretation of last events, as they try to spiritualize most of Revelation. :)

So you dont agree with what he said even though you did not look at the video??? :confused

I've seen several of the SDA videos, in fact I have a seven hour series of their Revelation videos here. And I think? I have watched part, or most of this one. They are about all the same in the end, and nothing new has ever been introduced, at least not in the few dozen I have seen.

Ok cool. So what are your views on Daniel 7?

John stresses strongly that those who follow the LOVE commands are in Christ, and they do not deny that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. The antichrist is one that denies the Son has come in the flesh, and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ...LOVE of God and others, and all that flows out of that walk.

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. 7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. 12 Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full. 13 The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.

I did, brother Lionel, the whole thing. I was familiar with most of it, and as I am studying end times more and more lately it was interesting to listen to.

"...they try to spiritualize most of Revelation." You mean "symbolize"? There are 407 verses in Revelation, 2/3 are from other parts of the Tanakh. How do SDA's try to "spiritualize" Revelation?

I be interested in knowing the name of that series you mentioned.

Revelation Speaks Peace; 12 disks of it. Actually its probably a little over 7 hours. Really its more of a Seminar, I have a friend who is SDA, he copied it and gave it to me.

" You mean "symbolize"?

Yes, Symbolize my apologies.

From Shawn Boonstra and "It is Written" ministries. Never saw it.

Yep; I couldn't remember the fellows name but that's it. Pretty interesting, my friend keeps trying to proselytize me every once in a while, but he doesn't get very far. :)

That happens when hearts and minds are closed.

Nope; it happens with me mostly when you try to tell me I have to obey the 10 commandments, to the letter. :)

Fortunately that is something I don't say. The word of God does however.

Ahh, but not in the letter, but in Spirit. All the commandments are fulfilled in this one, "Love your neighbor as you love yourself". With the exception of one not given to the New Testament Church, about keeping the Sabbath. This is actually a Perpetual Covenant between God, and the house of Israel.

Exo_31:16, Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

There are many more references like this in the Old Testament, but not one to the Church in the New Testament. :)

Samuel, if I'm not mistaken this thread is about Daniel 7 and not the Ten Commandments.

So we don't have to love God?

Exo_31:16, Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

I think you need to start a separate thread on the sabbath. Personally I think you need to take the issue up with the Lord myself.

Nope: I really don't want to discuss the Sabbath beyond this. And you are right, this thread is about Daniel 7, not the 10 Commandments, or the Sabbath. :)
