DANIEL CORRECTS THE 70AD MISCONCEPTION.

God’s dream given directly to king Nebuchadnezzar ‘in his head on his bed’ in Daniel 2.

70AD supposedly being the time of the second coming, according to some preterist beliefs is not the correct time of that event according to Daniel and God’s time table.
Capitals used for emphasis only.

Daniel 2: 1.And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar DREAMED DREAMS, wherewith his spirit was TROUBLED, and his sleep brake from him.

Daniel 2: 2. Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to SHEW THE KING HIS DREAMS. So they came and stood before the king.

Daniel 2: 3. And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and MY SPIRIT WAS TROUBLED TO KNOW THE DREAM.

Daniel 2: 4. Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: TELL THY SERVANTS THE DREAM, and WE WILL SHEW THE INTERPRETATION.

Daniel 2: 5. The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, THE THING IS GONE FROM ME: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, YE SHALL BE CUT IN PIECES, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

Daniel 2: 6. But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.

Please read Daniel 2: 7-26 where God reveals to the Prophet Daniel the dream He gave to king Nebuchadnezzar.

Daniel 2: 27. Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king; 28 But THERE IS A GOD IN HEAVEN THAT REVEALETH SECRETS, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days.
Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these; 29 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, WHAT SHOULD COME TO PASS HEREAFTER: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.

Daniel 2: 31. Thou, O king, SAWEST, AND BEHOLD A GREAT IMAGE. THIS GREAT IMAGE, whose BRIGHTNESS was EXCELLENT, stood before thee; and the form thereof was TERRIBLE.

HIS BELLY AND HIS THIGHS OF BRASS,
Daniel 2: 33. HIS LEGS OF IRON,

Daniel 2: 34. Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which SMOT THE IMAGE UPON HIS FEET that were OF IORON AND CLAY, and brake them to pieces.

Daniel 2: 35. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and THE WIND CARRIED THEM AWAY, THAT NO PLACE WAS FOUND FOR THEM: and the stone that smote the image became a GREAT MOUNTAIN, and FILLED THE WHOLE EARTH.

Daniel 2: 36. This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.

Daniel 2: 37. Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.

Daniel 2: 38. And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. THOU art THIS HEAD OF GOLD.

Daniel 2: 39. And after thee shall arise ANOTHER KINGDOM INFERIOR TO THEE, and ANOTHER THIRD KINGDOM OF BRASS, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

Daniel 2: 40. And THE FOURTH KINGDOM shall be strong as IRON: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

In hindsight FOUR great EMPIRES came to pass, this was the sum total of events until now.
The HEAD OF GOLD, was the Babylonian Empire 608BC – 539BC.
The SHOULDERS, ARMS OF SILVER was the Medo/Persian Empire. 539BC – 331BC.
The CHEST AND BELLY OF BRASS was the Greek Empire. 331BC – 146BC.
The LEGS OF IRON WAS THE ROMAN EMPIRE 146BC – 476AD.

The feet of IRON AND CLAY is yet to form up.
(It is interesting that the head of gold empire was taken over by the silver empire during the life of Daniel and spoken of in Daniel chapter 5, concerning Belshazzar.)

Daniel 2: 41. And whereas thou sawest THE FEET AND TOES, PART OF POTTERS’ CLAY, AND PART OF IRON, the KINGDOM SHALL BE DIVIDED; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

Daniel 2: 42. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

Daniel 2: 43. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: BUT THEY SHALL NOT CLEAVE ONE TO ANOTHER, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

From the next verse we are told that in the days of these kings that are divided but support the fourth beast world empire at the time of feet of iron and clay, God will set up His kingdom.
Daniel 2: 44. And IN THE DAYS OF THESE KINGS SHALL THE GOD OF HEAVEN SET UP A KINGDOM, WHICH SHALL NEVER BE DESTROYED: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and CONSUME ALL THESE KINGDOMS, and it shall STAND FOREVER.

Daniel 2: 45. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and THE DREAM is CERTAIN, and THE INTERPRETATION THEREOF SURE.

The assessment I make is simple, if God sets up His kingdom at the time of the feet of iron and Potter’s clay, it means He did not do so at 70AD because that period was during the legs of iron, being the Roman empire.

Hi whrlwind, I would like to add more detail to this post to clarify Daniel a little more.
I stated the following from my first post.

“From the next verse we are told that in the days of these kings that are divided but support the fourth beast world empire at the time of feet of iron and clay, God will set up His kingdom.â€Â

â€ÂDaniel 2: 44. And IN THE DAYS OF THESE KINGS SHALL THE GOD OF HEAVEN SET UP A KINGDOM, WHICH SHALL NEVER BE DESTROYED: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and CONSUME ALL THESE KINGDOMS, and it shall STAND FOREVER.†Unquote.

That may seem confusing to some, in that there are mentioned four powers as follows

Quote “Daniel 2: 40. And THE FOURTH KINGDOM shall be strong as IRON: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.â€Â

There is a ‘FOURTH BEAST POWER,’ which is not the Roman fourth power at the time of the legs of iron where God, certainly did not set up His kingdom.
They are distinctly different.

One . Roman Empire being the fourth power at the time of the legs of iron.
Two. The fourth beast power at the feet of iron and Potter’s clay.

The last mentiuoned concerns a divided kingdom that takes over the whole world at the specific time of the feet of iron and clay mentioned in Daniel 2: 42. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. Daniel 2: 43. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

Daniel 2: 44. And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Now I know this is a long read however if you haven’t the time to read it all just read blue highlights for specific points.

Daniel 7: 1. In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.

Daniel 7: 2. Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.

Daniel 7: 3. And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

Daniel 7: 4. The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.

Some claim that the above verse is representative of the Babylonian kingdom but that was way back at the head of gold on the metal Empire time statue of Daniel chapter 2.

Daniel 7: 5And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

There are some that mistakenly claim that the bear is representative of the Medo/Persian Empire but that was at the shoulders, chest and arms of silver on the statue.
Daniel 7: 6After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

Again claims are made that the leopard is representative of the Greek Empire of Alexander the great however I must disagree, as that empire is represented at the thighs of brass on the Metal Empire statue of Daniel 2.

Daniel 7: 7After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

Again there are those that incorrectly insist that the fourth beast is representative of Rome but again the Roman Empire was represented by the legs of iron on the Metal Empire Time Statue.

Let me state again that we are dealing with the time of the ‘feet of iron and potter’s clay’ mentioned in Daniel 2: 42-45 at which time God will set up His kingdom as we shall see in Daniel 7.

The little horn can easily be identified but for the moment I will leave out his ID and that of the other beasts for the sake of space at this particular time.

Daniel 7: 8. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

It is at this time of the feet of the iron and clay upon Earth, as the little horn starts speaking great things, which triggers an immediate response in Heaven.

Daniel 7: 9. I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

Daniel 7: 10. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

Look at what will occur on Earth!

Daniel 7: 11. I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

If you have time just read Rev 19: 20.

Daniel 7: 12. As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

The rest of the remnant beasts are dealt with in Rev 19: 21. :amen

It is at this time of the feet of iron and clay that the Lord is given back the things He gave up at becoming a man, in the flesh being the Lamb of redemption.
God could not simply take back the earth because He had given it to Adam and Adam lost the kingdom to the prince of darkness.
God had to work within His own laws and become a man a member of the family of Adam to gain the lost family inheritance, a lost kingdom that was Adam’s and Jesus as a king had to claim back the kingdom of Earth hence the begats from Adam to king David to the baby Jesus, a man a king a son of Adam. See Romans 8: 17. 1 Cor 15: 45-49.

Daniel 7: 13. I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

Daniel 7: 14.And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Daniel 7: 15.I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.

This is the TIME of the Saint’s possession of the kingdom that God sets up in verse 14 and this fact is repeated again in verse 18.

Daniel 7: 16. I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.

These four are the lion, bear, leopard and fourth beast with the mortal wound of Daniel 7: 2-7, who give their support to the fourth beast, see Rev 13: 2, and the fourth beast is given power see Rev 13: 3-4 by the dragon/Satan for 42 months please read Rev 13: 5.

The angel Gabriel explains the vision to Daniel.
Daniel 7: 17These great beasts, which are four, four kings, shall arise out of the earth.

Daniel 7: 18.But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

Daniel 7: 19.Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
Daniel 7:20.And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

Ten horns, one comes up, removes three, leaves 8.

Daniel 7: 21.I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

Daniel 7: 22.Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

We are given a repeat by Gabriel.

Daniel 7: 23.Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

Daniel 7: 24.And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
We are brought back again to the specific time span of 3 ½ years.
Daniel 7: 25.And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Daniel 7: 26.But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.

Daniel 7: 27.And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

Daniel; 7: 28.Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

Patterns and parallels.

Revelation 13: 5.And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7.And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

I will leave it there for the moment but I will be back to ID the little horn and the Lion, Bear and Fourth beast. Then I would like to show where the USA, UK, Russia, the leopard the Fourth beast join together as we have seen in Rev 13: 2. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

Later I would like to mention Daniel 8, which details the events of the beginning of the time of the end being the time of the feet of iron and clay which sets off Daniel 7 that I call the overview.

To my mind there would have been physical evidence of His second advent but there is none on the Mount of Olives.

Zechariah 14: 1. Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

2. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

3. Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

4. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

5. And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

6. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:

7. But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

8. And it shall be in that day, living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

9. And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

Hi Whirlwind, yes I agree about 'all these things.' I have argued that for years, that there are still stones upon stones piled up.
I keep searching the scriptures and I thought that Zechariah 14: 1- 9 added another biblical point to the discussion apposing the 70AD idea.
The Wailing Wall is a retaining wall, for the Place of the Daily and was below ground level, it was a foundation wall and a most vital part of the structure holding everything together.
They dug out the earth along the face of the wall down to a lower level now called ‘The Street’ where the Jews gather.
For me as long as the Mount of Olives stands as one mount and with stone upon stone then that proves 70AD was nothing more than the Roman’s attacking Jerusalem. Zechariah 14: 1- 9 confirms that fact even more and stone upon stone adds even more confirmation. :yes

That's how I understand the Daniel statue prophecy also. The very last beast kingdom is to involve the feet which totals TEN toes.

Dan 7:7
7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.(KJV)

That's where some get the idea of a revived Roman empire during the very last days, because of the iron link from the fallen Roman empire. Some think it involves the EU today. Yet there's a deeper Message about the time of the statue's destruction.

Dan 7:12
12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.(KJV)

The previous beast kingdoms had their reign taken away, but they still exist within the final one of ten toes and clay. Does that reveal why Christ mentioned the previous beast kingdoms of Dan.7 in Rev.13:2, right after revealing the final beast ten horned kingdom of Rev.13:1? I think so.

Dan 2:34-35
34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

When that 'Stone', which represents Christ (the stone the builders rejected), strikes the final beast kingdom of ten toes mixed with iron and clay, the WHOLE statue comes tumbling down. The picture is that all the previous beast kingdoms are still being supported by the final beast of the toes and clay.

Our Lord's Message is that the final beast kingdom on earth will INCLUDE all the previous beast kingdoms, creating a truly WORLD WIDE beast kingdom over ALL the earth, over ALL nations. The workers today who take part in that working are called 'globalists', 'internationalists', and modern terms they have used for that operation is "one world government" and "New World Order".

Our Lord revealed through His prophet Daniel there a PROGRESSIVE working upon the earth by Satan's workers in an attempt to establish a copy of God's future Eternal Kingdom under His Son.

Here's a bit of summary on your point I think might help others,

That working of the final beast kingdom of the ten toes of iron mixed with clay DOES prove that the 70 A.D. destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple WAS NOT by the final beast kingdom on earth. It thus shows that hardline Preterism has missed a whole section of prophetic events set for the very last days, meaning for our time today. They have missed God's Word about the final beast kingdom on earth to include the power of ALL the previous beast kingdoms of past history.

Other thoughts on this:
And since the final beast kingdom of Dan.2 is about ten toes of iron loosely mixed with clay, we should be looking for the two unmixed materials today, to see what or who all they represent. I believe the iron does have a link to Rome, but not like a revived Roman empire. I see the working on a much larger scale than just any one single group in the West, or the East.

It ought to be very clear what the globalists are trying to accomplish on earth today. They want a "one world government", and have been working towards that for at least 22 centuries (per a certain political document of their's which I won't name here). In order to pull that off, they have progressively been working to pull all nations together under one head according to their purpose, little by little. It is being done in 4 specific areas: the political, the financial, the educational, and finaly the relgious being the last nut they intend to crack.

There's still a variety of cultural beliefs and religions of the world today that when joined together under one head, will not mix, but will be like the ten toes of iron mixed with miry clay. The Christian West and the various religions of the East under the principle of Ecunemicalism is how that's partially being done. There have been world relgious summits held in Moscow with leaders of the world's major religions, including from the Christian west (the last one mentioned in the news that I'm aware of was in 1993).

The United Nations World Council of Churches is another inner-road to that working. The U.N. building in New York city even has a special meditation room setup for all peoples from whatever religous background they have. Radical Islamic camps are being dealt with today as part of the U.N. working, and the time will come when the majority of Islamic leaders will get on the world peace wagon. The reason is because God is in control, and He is allowing that final beast kingdom to cover all the earth in the last days of this world. And, He has shown us in His Word why that must happen, because of the rebellion against Him, including the very first rebellion against Him. But as He showed us in Daniel 2, that joining of nations will never completely gel.

This means those who remain faithful to Christ Jesus in His Word will be attacked more and more, even by deceived brethren that are now heavily latching onto doctrines of men outside God's Word that are specifically designed to accept the joining of nations ideaology, the Kingdom now ideaology. The mystery of iniquity has not been able to defeat the Christian West on the open battle field because of God's Hand, so they must try to defeat us from within, amongst our own. That is being done by their modifying God's Holy Writ so that It 'appears' to be in agreement with the other religious beliefs of the world. Thus they will not like it when we say there is only One Way of Salvation through the Blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth The Saviour.
