Death of Christianity in Europe -- is America next?

In the Fox promotion of the Pope's visit to America one of the news item mentioned is the concern of the Papacy of the loss of Europe to a "post Christian" culture where even the few remaining attending RC members in Europe continue to ask their priests "if they are certain that there actually is a God".

Atheist Darwinism has gained far more converts in Europe than all of Christianity. It has been greatly helped by Christian teaching institutions like those run by the RCC, Lutherans, Presbyterians etc that also promote atheist darwinist evolutionism in a truly self-defeating style whose "predictable" results are that members leave in droves in the EU and those who still remain are asking their pastors and priests "if they are certain that God exists".

In the U.S the scourge of atheist darwinism is not nearly as popular among the general public as in Europe - so across the board - Christian Churches have benefitted.

A comparison of peoples' views in 34 countries finds that the United States ranks near the bottom when it comes to public acceptance of evolution. Only Turkey ranked lower.

Atheist darwinisms brainchild is being suffocated in the U.S by comparison to the rest of the world AND the result is that the U.S is still "the wests MOST CHRISTIANIZED nation".

But as insane as it may appear - many mainline Christian churches in the U.S are now doing everything they can to pull atheist darwinism INTO their congregations and teaching instiutions in an all out effort (apparently) to "do the same thing the EU did but blindly hope for different results".

Religion belief and evolution

The researchers also compared 10 independent variablesâ€â€including religious belief, political ideology and understanding of concepts from genetics, or “genetic literacyâ€Ââ€â€between adults in America and nine European countries to determine whether these factors could predict attitudes toward evolution.

The analysis found that Americans with fundamentalist religious beliefsâ€â€defined as belief in substantial divine control and frequent prayerâ€â€were more likely to reject evolution than Europeans with similar beliefs. The researchers attribute the discrepancy to differences in how American Christian fundamentalist and other forms of Christianity interpret the Bible.

While American fundamentalists tend to interpret the Bible literally and to view Genesis as a true and accurate account of creation, mainstream Protestants in both the United States and Europe instead treat Genesis as metaphorical, the researchers say.

“Whether it’s the Bible or the Koran, there are some people who think it’s everything you need to know,†Miller said. “Other people say these are very interesting metaphorical stories in that they give us guidance, but they’re not science books.â€Â

This latter view is also shared by the Catholic Church.

How can Christians continue to promote their own demize and then act surprised when it get's the same results as it did in Europe?

We need more christians taking a stand for real science over the junk-science mythologies of atheist darwinism that start with abiogenesis and include such frauds as Simpson's horse series fraud and the latest fraud to be uncovered - Neanderthal man -- 300 years old NOT 10,000 years old!

We need more people that will stand up for science and the Bible -- instead of fleeing the ground at every beat of the atheist darwinist drums.

What say you?

(Here is a good example of Chritian bashing site that quickly recognizes the contribution of Bible believing Christians in america in withstanding the inroads of atheist-darwinism).

I think the primary reason for the death of churches is the adaption of liberal theology. As the mainline churches ceased believing or espousing any fundamental beliefs, people began to ask themselves, "why am I getting up early on Sunday for a social club?"

The First Fundamental belief in the Bible is "In the Beginning GOD CREATED..."

The first fundamental belief in the GOSPEL of John is that Christ "CREATED all things in heaven and on earth".

In Romans 1 THE most fundamental fact of human nature is defined to be the fact that even godless pagans "are convicted" by the "Invisible attributes of God" that are "Clearly SEEN through the things that have been made" -- this is at the very LEAST -- "Intelligent Design" being so basic a fact that even godless pagans according to Romans 1 are convicted on that point.

The CREATOR's own memorial of His creative act in making mankind is given in the Ten Commandments using these words "FOR IN SIX days the LORD made the heavens and the earth".

When primate monkey rather than God is the Father of humanity and single celled creatures the father of all life on earth RATHER than the God of Creation the natural question is "Well then how do you know there even IS a God".

In fact without a society/culture/humanity "Designed by God" the next step beyond destroying acceptance of our "Creator" is to destroy the nature and function of marriage and diminish the importance of human life -- starting with the very youngest.

NONE of that can happen while God is still acknowledged as divine supernatural Creator and His Word "True" and "Trustworthy".

The atheist darwinist Dawkins is correct to conclude the death of Christianity with the rise of atheist darwinism -- it is a "distinctively atheist" religion - a sea of frauds and hoaxes. It was given free reign among the masses in europe -- it is heavily doubted in America by the general public. THE RESTULT is "Post-Christian age" Europe with America still being "The most actively Christian nation" in the west -- according to some News accounts.

It has an iron grip on some institutions of science in America today to the point of blind censorship of good science - as the movie "Expelled" documents.

Those who have almost no use for the reliability of scripture -- will have almost no understanding of the God of the Bible or the relationship between questioning His role as Creator - and doubting His role as Savior. But "europe is getting the point" of how "post-christian" that road can be.

As for the post-christian "progression" of those who start down the path of atheist darwinism thinking they can marry atheism to the Bible "without destroying the Bible" are missing the message of Romans 1 SHOWING the link stated in my prior posts.

[quote:268f0]Rom 1
Unbelief and Its Consequences

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress
the truth in unrighteousness,

19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen,
being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations,
and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed
animals and crawling creatures.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator,
who is blessed forever. Amen.

After reading Romans 1 "objectively" how can anyone doubt the following.

1. When Darwinism is contrasted to the evolutionist proposals of the Intelligent Design arguments - Darwinism is shown to be "DISTINCTIVELY ATHEIST" for it is reduced in that case to arguing against the VERY point of Romans 1 above that even Pagans were getting according to scripture. That God can be SEEN IN the things HE has made by a non-Christian Pagan who observes IN THOSE THINGS MADE the intelligent work of God seeing in what HE has done "the invisible attributes of God".

That is not a statement on "the great faith of pagans" in Romans 1 -- it is a statement on the Pagans "who have no EXCUSE" sine they continue in a course opposed to God EVEN though HE is clearly SEEN in the "things that have been made".

2. Richard Dawkins has often mentioned this obvious point as an atheists -- that the principles of atheist darwinism merely ESTABLISH a viable option for atheists. (Something obvious to all) and those who try to marry the Bible to atheist darwinism have just destroyed the Bible.

Hence the fall of Christianity in those countries MOST accepting of atheist Darwinism.. No big surprise there.

HENCE the pilloring of Christians in America for standing in the gap and withstanding the progress of atheist darwinism.

3. But BEING Christian allows us a degree of scientific freedom, integrity and honesty that many devotees to atheist darwinism do not enjoy. We are free to ADMIT to the hoaxes, blunders, gaffs and fraudulent claims of atheist darwinists that have piled up over time. Simpson's Horse series for example, the 300 year old Neanderthals claimed to be 10,000 years old (for a more recent example).

AND we are free to admit to the wild hand waiving that atheist darwinist do in the realm of abiogenesis all the while having no SCIENCE to back them up.

We are freed to observe the GLARING blunder in atheist darwinism that must claim "A MASSIVE DECREASE in entroy" for molecule-to-human-mind evolution (Isaac Asimov) as contrasted to emperical science.

Ah Tim,

How observent you truly are. For WHY would we 'join a group' that offers ONLY mediocre entertainment and that teaches us that 'we are ALL sinners and it's OK cause Jesus LOVES us'? And LOOK at the 'price of membership'. Not any less than that of a mediocre 'country club'. And ALL of this for WHAT? A 'cute story' based on a couple of lines of scripture. A couple of songs and then spagetti on Thurday night, (which must be paid for also). And then, no matter HOW much you GIVE, you're CONSTANTLY told that, "We NEED MORE".

Where IS The Spirit in these 'houses of God'? Where is the 'unity' other than in devotion to the PARTICULAR HOUSE.

MEC

Turns out -- the "church IS the people".

No popes, no star entertainment, no "bingo" substitute for the Word.

When the people value the Bible as the Word of God -- trustworthy and accurate , when they come into a close walk with Christ "the WORD" then they "fellowship with one another" having testimonies to share about answered prayer, the power of conversion - faith in the God of the Bible who did create us just as He said He did - and who IS coming back literally just as He said.

Basically it is a gathering of the singed and bruised and burnt just outside of a burning building, all shocked to discover that the fire-escape plan was "literal" and worked "exactly as described" (no making up your own idea of a fire escape)

in Christ,

Bob

Here is a good example of the "junk science" that people have been trading away the Gospel to embrace.

Neanderthal man --
Another "dating error" was identified for a skull found near Paderborn, Germany, that Protsch dated at 27,400 years old. It was believed to be the oldest human remain found in the region until the Oxford investigations indicated it belonged to an elderly man who died in 1750.

ouch.. ^

I believe that for the most part, America is almost already gone! I consider America to be a Lukewarm church.. Which is worse than a dead church to God. So.. yea.. That is my opinion..

The problem goes further. As the culture slides down the slippery slope from "post Christian" to "anti-Christian" there is an increasing stigma associated with going to serious churches or be seen as taking Christianity seriously. Why would anyone endure that stigma and the ridicule that follows for a social club church? So people stop going in increasing numbers.
