December 24th end of the world....

How many out there remember the old December 24, 2011 date instead of the "modern" 12/21/12 date from the Mayan calendar? I remembered December 24th (but not the year correctly until recently) back in 1975 when I watched "Chariots of the Gods" movie and it bothered me to no end that everyone was saying December 21st when I knew I heard December 24th for the last 37 years now. Well, I was right, just had the year wrong and over the past 30 years they revised the date.

This thread isn't to talk about the end of the world, but I was wondering how many out there are old like me that remember this original date?

Hmmmm. This been posted 6 hours now and about 20 views and no answer. I guess the answer is "not many" people remember that date. I must be one of the grumpy old men on this forum and this was before everyone's time here. :lol

I very vaguely remember the date being the 24th. I just watched Chariot of the Gods within the last 4 months, and don't recall hearing that date.... Must've been in the kitchen getting a sandwich or a beer or something!

12/24/11
12/12/12
12/21/12
If people keep 'changing' the day, then one day they will guess it right lol

Here's additional dates:

10/28/2011
12/23/2012
1/11/2013

So I learned from my little research there was indeed disagreement. I think the 12/21/2012 stuck because it was the solstice.

The December 24th date, however, I believe was one of the more significant ones in my day because it was movies like "Chariots of the Gods" that first introduced the idea of the Mayan doomsday. The other dates were later revisions the first one by another fellow, and the second and third ones by the same fellow by the name of Coe who later revised the December 24, 2011 date in the 80's.

But didn't Nostradumas predict an end of the world? What was his supposed date?

And what about the UFO/Comet cult? Didn't they set a date?
Let's not leave out ANY kook-isms here!

Nostradamas predicted the end to be in 3579 or there about. So, according to him, we have nothing to be concerned about with the Mayan calendar.

Any way you look at it, you still need to be prepared each and every day, for you never know when your final day will be.

Not A problem folks we really do know when the world as we know it will end Jesus told us a number of times.....

Joh_6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
