In football my forte was attack not defence.
Recently playing Scrabble online, I noticed that some people are very defensive players. Taking no risks in attack .it's boring to play them. They often win but at what cost?
Back to football. Notice the coaches have an either defensive approach or an attacking approach. I much prefer watching attacking teams. They are more creative, more exciting. Thr defensive coach can get the most out of a weak team. And minimise the defeats they receive. But when they have very talented players who can attack, do they get the most out of them?
This is a debatable topic of course. My preference is attacking style. Taking risks. Even if they lose. Attack is more interesting to watch than defence. But more and more coaches are choosing defence as a priority. "Get defence right, and the rest falls in to place". I admit the wisdom but I prefer attack.
