I want to say something about pet doctrines . We as Christians are suppose to preach the Gospel. The good news about what Jesus did for us on the cross. What he meant by "it is finished" . We have to tell people that He took the curse upon Himself to set them free. We are suppose to bring freedom to the captives, heal the sick.

When we loose our focus and we set a doctrine above this, we move into idolatry.Paul said 1Co 2:2 For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Now that may seem strange, but Paul's letters are about Jesus and "Him crucified", so are all the other letter of the apostles. Because the crucified Christ is God's power. 1Co 1:18 For the word of the cross...is the power of God. We have to KNOW and TEACH people why it is the power of God. We are not allowed to spend all of our time on one doctrine that our flesh likes. The Bible warns us about this, so I am not writing this from my perspective at all. We have to KNOW the Word, so that we can KNOW Jesus and the Father. Even if we spend all our time "getting people saved" and "laying hands on the sick" and "perform miracles in His name" and "preaching our pet doctrines" He can turn around and say:

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Mat 7:24 Every one therefore that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened unto a wise man, who built his house upon the rock:

So while some might be comfortable in the spiritual place they find themselves, Jesus is looking down on us looking for those who are "hearing and doing" . Hearing and doing as a result of the DONE works of the cross, brings freedom, salvation, physical healing, deliverance from demons. In other words, the doing of what we have heard, brings the gospel into our realm. The POWER of the cross, as Paul said, enters not only our lives, but the lives of those in need of salvation. As the word salvation (soteria) has a much wider meaning than just "going to heaven" we have to preach the whole meaning AND ......DO the whole meaning. That is KNOWING Jesus and the Father.

So this is a call from my heart to my brothers and sisters to sit down and think about it. Its your eternity and mine , that we are talking about.

Cornelius,

In the earth three things testify and agree (in unity). These three are the blood, the water and the Spirit.

It is the Spirit that makes the blood and water effective to us.

The cross of Christ is both the power and the wisdom of God.

It is the third work of the Spirit that gives us to rightly divide between soul and spirit; power and wisdom; blood and water.

Until the third work of the Spirit is sent by the Father, the children through the blood and the young men through the water are always jostling with each other as to who's doctrine is greatest. When we are given to be fathers to the Body of Jesus, then we no longer strive with the younger members of the family of God. Then we go forward halting on our thigh working to make peace among the 12 who are given to us to serve.

We will indeed be entering a time of maturity in our lifetime. :) The tribulation is greatly needed and it will cause unity and separation. The falling away of the apostate , will leave the Bride standing alone in unity. She will only be revealed when such a falling aways indeed happens.

Jesus's disciples had a bit of the Harlot in them as well and the true Bride of His times, was only clearly seen, after Judas "fell away". What was left at that time, was the true church.

Cornelius,

When the Judas of our time "falls away", the true believers will be scattered as the 11 disciples were scattered. But Jesus will gather us back together as he gathered them. This is how the Lord Jesus will bring our repentance to the full and therein prepare us for the full gift of the spirit of ministry and suffering shame for his name.
