I have always wondered, do these scriptures mean that Jesus let some people out of hell, I’m not talking about the comfort side known as Abraham’s Bosom. I'm talking about the suffering side. By reading these scriptures, it seams Jesus did let people out of the burning side of Hell when He descended into hell when He died on the cross.

1Pe 3:17 It is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,
through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison
who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built.

1Pe 4:6 For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to men in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.

Well, there are people that believe Jesus didn't even go there to begin with, let alone preach the gospel there.

It's some of these verses that the LDS get their idea of "spirit prison" from. :gah

If you look at the verses, it does seem to indicate that Jesus visited hell, but not that he took anyone out with him...

However, one might wonder about those that were in hell under the old covenent, and what the purpose of them hearing the gospel was, if they were to remain in Hell -- most say it's not a "good news" gospel he preached, but rather one of bad news to bad spirits -- e.g. I am Lord over you. But that depends on whether or not you believe the spirits in prision were believers, unbelievers, demons, what have you.

I actually don't know what to think, so :shrug
Wonder away, and let me know what you come up with.

Thanks Entropic_Prodigy for your reply.
I don’t know for certain either if Jesus let people out of hell, that is why I posted My question to get different views. I do know that when he died he went into Abraham’s Bosom where the Old Testament Saints were.
They had to wait until Jesus died on the cross for them to make it to heaven. Until then their blood was only covered not taken away, for in Hebrews 10:4 says (because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.) Abraham’s Bosom was the place Lazarus and the rich man was. Jesus' story of this true event did not take place in heaven, it took place in the heart of the earth with Lazarus on the comfort side and the rich man on the other, the fiery suffering side. The Comfort side is now empty because when Jesus died he went into the comfort side to preach to the Old Testament Saints to Lead captivity captive. He lead them out to up to the surface of the earth, as I posted above. Ephesians 4:8 This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men.†And in Psalms it says (Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.) The everlasting doors the Scripture talks about is the entrance into the underworld. Jesus also said (Matthew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.) This is when he went to preach to the Spirits.
