did my dog get into poison?

Took him to the vet. They did a physical checkup and nothing came up. (Well, two unrelated issues I didn't know about before. A slight heart murmur and his right leg is a little stiff like he injured it a long time ago or something. The other vets we've been to have never mentioned either of these.)

I told the vet that he has had issues in the past with being afraid of certain noises.
It does seem like whenever the fly came around was when he began acting weird, so it may have been the buzzing noise he disliked.

The vet suggested a thunder shirt and had Treader fitted for one. You wouldn't think they do anything, but man I have never seen Treader so quiet during a car ride.

He's usually whining constantly and loudly.
Anyway, hopefully it works for this...if not, they say to call them back.
Since there was no real symptoms of poison, they didn't do any bloodwork. But said to keep an eye on him in case we do see any symptoms within the next couple of days.

I hope your place isn't haunted (considering the vet found nothing significantly physically wrong with him). Dogs and cats are sensitive to things like that. Whenever I think I hear a noise like footsteps, voices or bumps, the first thing I do is check on my cats in the garage. If they are calm, then so am I.

On the more mundane possibilities, I like what stovebolts said that something is irritating his hearing, or maybe his other senses that annoys him and frightens him. For example, I wonder if dogs can get tinnitus?

You just have to take note of all the symptoms and ask yourself what could cause all those symptoms? This way you can rule out some things and find a common denominator causing all those.
