Hi, (J/t/B/ here)
let me offer it a little more differently even? Here is a poster who signs her name lets say, sister George, or Mr. Pope George, or whatever or whoever? (it is just some posting!)

And he or she posts that Paul.. does, says, or contradicts Christ! or whatever, huh? (note 1 Corinthians 14:32 for who it is that is called a liar! 2 Peter 1:20-21!!) And the brothers & sisters of 'some' forum (bosses) say that this will not be tolerated by their brother?? huh? In other words, again, is this person a brother that Paul would give 'Godly High Priest Respect' to?

Now: The subject is about being a liar? Right??? Are [we] calling some people that we know to be documented liars, brothers & sisters with some kind of lying respect???????

Perhaps the Lord's Word of Revelation 18:4 of being 'Partakers' of these sins were only understood by Paul, and Christ's 'My People', or, that the warning of receiving of the plagues, was seen as God just blowing smoke? . :(

Perhaps 'some' best read about the liars of Revelation 21:27? And even then we see the audaciousness of 'one' leaving their postings at the bottom of their page, with The Truth of Ecclesiastes 12:13, as if they are Christ Loving Commandment keepers. :(

Lovey....help....I need some Pentecostal Typing translated....

John....you are being bad again....? You aren't holding to your boy's word....

Didn't Paul say you shouldn't type in tongues if no one was there to translate? Why? Because the one typing in tongues would appear to be a barbarian...

1Cr 14:27 If any man speak(Type) in an [unknown] (incoherent) tongue (type), [let it be] by two, or at the most [by] three, and [that] by course; and let one interpret.
1Cr 14:28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

Of course the red is my paraphrase, but the idea is the same. :-)

Just poking a little fun brother John....I'm in a good mood today... :-D

Don't fret! (1 John 4:6) It will all be 'removed' when a couple mod's get out of church, huh? But, your Abominable garbage about Paul, just lives on! See 1 Kings 22:19-22 :( Whatever?

Here is a thought that occurred to me. Verse 1 says Paul was looking earnestly at the council. Perhaps Paul knew that a man named Ananias was the High Priest at that time, but was not aware of which one of the men in this council was Ananias.

Act 23:1 ¶ And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men [and] brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.

What I see in verse 5 is repentance. Respect for the office; maybe. Take into consideration that by this time Paul had encountered the Lord Jesus. Once someone has seen the Lord face to face, it is a bit hard to take the council of Pharisees seriously. I can also see it the way jgredline sees it. Paul’s statement may have been sarcastic.

Act 23:3 Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, [thou] whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?

As for verse 3, Paul's statement seems to be "You will reap what you have sown." Paul, who spent the earlier part of his life persecuting Christians, certainly knew that to be true.

Paul knew who the HP was....this was the most important position in Judaism. Besides, Paul was a relative of the Herodians...the Herodians appointed the HP's....the HP position was tightly controlled by them...it would have been very unlikely that Paul didn't know who the HP was.

Georges,
One can not help but notice how anti-Paul you are. Not to get off thread here, but I am wondering what is your opinion on the book of Acts?
It seems to me that Luke, who wrote one of the gospels as well as Acts, seemed to be cool with Paul.

Hey little angel
That is a good question. So what of it George?

Just a question about lies! Eve was deceived going to the garden talking to the devil, huh?

Yet, in todays setting we see people knowingly going to 'folks' who tell you flat out that they do not accept the Word of God in its entirety, so who are these folks who go to inquire talking to? and in full knowledge! 2 Timothy 3:16 & Matthew 4:4. And we think that God is going to keep us???? :( See Psalm 19:13's PRESUMPTION!

It sounds like this: Eve, (of today?) sure Lord, I know what you said, yet, he says that You are the liar, that this fruit will make me wise! And he says that I won't surely die! And I know that you would never let me die, huh? You love me to much! And not only that Lord, You said that I was created Very Good, that means that I am a pretty cool gal, and I will watch my step! :fadein: And he is no match for my vain wits! Titus 3:9-11. And You did tell me that he was perfect at one time, and was the covering cherub in your Throne room, and I just knew that he would teach me some things! And just look at all of his wisdom! (sounds like the ones over on the catholic thread)

Me anti-Paul....Yeh...somewhat, I don't necessarily dislike Paul, there are things that Paul says that are contrary to the other disciples....Why?...Luke was cool with Paul...almost a personal biographer....However, I use both Luke and Paul....I just use them guardedly, if Paul jives with Jesus, the Tanach, and the Apostles, great...if not....can't use him.

I think it would have been really interesting if James (the leader of the Christian community) had a personal biographer...I bet we'd have a different telling of Acts.....

Still, Acts does offer interesting historical prospects....

New evidence to add about Paul

Just to bring out another true statement made by Paul.

Act 20:26 "For this reason, I testify to you* on this very day that I [am] innocent from the blood of all [people]. ALT

Please note that Paul(Saul) was the father of terrorist. He burn churches and kills / tortured Christian. But yet in Act 20:26 he clearly state that he is pure / innocent from the blood of all people.

I believe that Paul truly did not know the HP. He is also true in saying that he is pure/ innocent from the blood of all people even when he has in the pass (Saul) killed many Christians.

God Bless
