Was the Early church concerned with it's place in the world...with keeping the status quo? Or was it only concerned with a heavenly agenda?

Greetings Adullam!

I ask blessing from our Lord onto you and thank you for this thread, "Did the church believe in revolution?" I guess my answer would be, "It depends."

Depending on your point of view the answer could be either 'Yes' or 'No'. From the viewpoint of the world leaders and current religious leaders, certainly the followers of the Annointed were troublemakers. I suspect that you have something more to say about this maybe?

The truth of it lies in God's point of view. It isn't a "revolt" to align one's self with rightful highest authority. A simple example: If we were members of a gang and the leader ordered us to do something illegal - rob a store or something? And we refused? To the leader we would be seen as disloyal but if our choice kept the whole gang (the leader included) from going to jail then our choice was the right one. Same is true for the early Christian Church who followed after the highest authority (God and Christ) and were not actually revolting or turning against religion or worldly leaders.

But let me be quiet also here because I do wish to hear what you would like to say, please? :wink3
