Matthew 25:31-46

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. KJV

Do these verses define the spiritual significance of 'RIGHT hand' and LEFT 'hand'?

Other scriptures...More thoughts...?

In the Scriptures we find the right hand of God mentioned a great many times, and the left hand of God is mentioned on a number of occasions. The word "right" as used with "hand" is generally the Hebrew word "yamiym" meaning STRONGER, MORE DEXTEROUS. The word for "left" is "smowl" meaning DARK. From the meaning of these two words it is very easy to understand that God's right hand is His strength and dexterity, or His wonderful ability to do all things. The implication is that the right hand of God is the GOOD HAND of God, doing GOOD things. But the left hand in the Old Testament means DARK And from this we can readily understand that it signifies the opposite - what we call bad or evil. The left hand represents the DARK SIDE OF GOD. This is the hand of God so little understood.

A key to this vital truth is found in the words of David in Ps. 111:7 wherein he states states, "The works of HIS HANDS are verity and judgment." We have already mentioned that God is not a man, He possesses no body such as we have, for He is omnipresent Spirit; but God has ordained the visible realm to serve as an allegory to convey the realities which pertain to the higher realm of the invisible

I will also add both the sheep and goat were clean animals in the OT.

Thanks...Benoni, I believe much the same. Here is a verse that make me think twice!

Eccl 10:2 A wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left. KJV

To add to your "right" thoughts....

John 21:6 And He said unto them, "Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find." They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

Just like when Jesus ascended on high to stand at the right hand of Power.

Wonderful ww...right side of the ship... I sure need help on the RIGHT side ... :yes
But then, think I/we need help on both sides to be balanced...NO?

Yess, MMarc...Jesus ascended on high to stand at the right hand of Power.... :amen

Jonah 4:11 And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle? KJV

WOW!... 120,000 persons that did not know their right hand from their left hand! ...

Interesting that I often forget and don't know the difference either....

Benoni,

Leviticus 16, a prophecy of the judgment, shows a goat as the atonement sacrifice for the congregation.

Moses could only see the backside of God when he was in the mountain.

So what is your point? Yes a goat is a clean animal, a pig is an unclean animal.

Hi Mark - Hi Nick,

To refresh...
This thread begins with Matthew 25:31-46...the sheep on the right hand, the goats on the left hand.
Further illustration - God sent Jonah to preach to the city of Nineveh with a population of over 120,000 Jonah 4:11 that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand;

As I look around the world today, I see NINEVEH - people that spiritually do not know their right hand from their left hand.

The churches of today, are a mixture of sheep and the goats, all have religion. Religion, to one person brings repentance, faith and belief toward God and his Christ. To another person, Religion is a means to 'get to heaven', and can be attained through good humanitarian works done in the name of Christ! God will separate these two understandings of 'Religion' when He judges the earth!

Nick, so you are 'left handed'. Nothing - left hand or right hand is - of itself, good or bad. However, God give these lessons to help us understand who HE IS and who HE - IS NOT more fully.

Blessings to those reading the WORD...Ret

Matt 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divided his sheep from the goats:

Please some one turn the light on.

A sheep is a mature believe, a sheep is a very loyal to His master and eats only the best of the grasses. As a boy I notice the farmer would give the sheep the second and third cuttings of grass; full of leaves and substance. A cow would eat the first cutting the lesser of the hay crop, made up of stems and little leaf compared to the earlier cuttings. Of course a goat will eat any garbage as long as it is in front of his nose.

Now I want to go to Matt 25:32 and I note; many are assuming a goat is a non believer, all it is your assumption, look at the Greek; I see a goat as an immature believer (baby goat); who are separated because of their spiritual immaturity. Many are mature in their little religious box; but are immature spiritually; they have that immature goat nature.

Sheep Separated from Goats

Matt 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divided his sheep from the goats:

Where on the other hand a goat or the Greek word (eriphos or kid; baby goat) So I see it as God separating his Sheep mature from His immature kids; spiritually speaking)
NT:2056

1 Corin 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world (age) are come.

On the other hand a goat is also a clean animal, now if you the verse referred to a pig or unclean animal I would agree with the traditional teaching. A pig would be a great example of the unjust/heathen; but a goat was used all though out the OT as a sacrificial animal’ so how can it be the unjust? (scrape goat); and why would God burn up a baby goat in everlasting fire; what did the baby goat do?

Actually nothing; the unqualified and unjust and bias translators obvious made a grave error in the word everlasting and should of translated it ages (NT:166 Aionios). The word means ages; limit duration. The has happen a number of times in scripture and can be easily proven by the context of the verse.

But according to these bias translators God is going to send a baby goat to everlasting fire.

Matt 25:41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels

So many of God’s people are goats and all they eat is garbage; in other words damnable heresies or heresies of damnation/condemnations/ all those heresies that condemn people to torture.

Is not a goat a clean animal; how can a goat be the unsaved; the unsaved are defiled; Jesus was a Jew and knew all the clean and unclean animal. So you are saying we should throw away all the OT types and dismiss them and replace them with bias Christian assumptions?

Benoni,

I have just read your last post. We are in agreement about the place of the goats in the family of God.

Yes they are clean animals. They are not hogs or dogs. Goats will butt heads with you.

Your servant in the Lord Jesus,
Joe

Yes i agree....As long as you put them in the family of God so many don't.

Heb 4:12
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. KJV

Word of God is quick: left hand of God
Word of God is powerful: right hand of God

Divides asunder soul: left hand of God
Divides asunder spirit: right hand of God
Divides asunder joints: left hand of God
Divides asunder marrow: right hand of God

Discerner of thoughts: left hand of God
Discerner of intents: right hand of God

Left hand and right hand are symbolic of two necessary opposing thoughts concerning God.
The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing/saying.
The right hand understands the purpose of the restraint.
