Disappearing act........?

This may seem silly to some, but recently I was talking to a friend of mine about how I can walk into my house with something in my hand, and it seems to just disappear. I can look and look for it when it comes time that I might need it for something, and can't find it anywhere. I find myself so very often asking the Lord to reveal it's whereabouts to me so I can find it (whatever "it" may be at the time). And, He always does. However, at times I've become so frustrated from searching for this "thing" I'm in need of that I've laid down somewhere in my house, that I don't ask for help and I never seem to find it.

Ok... when I was talking to my friend about this, she said, "Oh! That's a "clout spirit". It's like a cloak of sorts that "hides" things from you. You need to come against that and cast it out of your house."

I've tried to research this online, and can't find anything. Can anyone tell me anything about this? Or is it the first time you've heard of it too? Hope to hear from someone on this topic.
Thanks.

There is nothing in the Scriptures regarding such a thing. It sounds as if your friend is buying into what I call the "Christian occult", a mind set that thinks anything that upsets or bothers us in any way is a manifest demon or spirit. I know of some who think that there is an actual demon named "alcohol" who possesses anyone with a drinking problem, an actual demon of "laziness", now apparently there is supposed to be an actual demon who goes around hiding things from people?

Sorry, but this kind of thing just isn't biblical at all. Demons do exist, and they do tempt us. Their primary objective is to draw us away from God. One of the best ways to do this is to lie to us, and one of their favorite lies is to convince us that they are far more powerful than they actually are.

As far as things disappearing when you lay them down, there could be several explanations. One, things are just as chaotic in your house as they are in mine. Lots of times I'll be looking for something and nobody knows where it's at, nobody has seen it or touched it, but then when it's found someone says, "Oh yeah, I did put that there." That just happened a few hours ago with my gardening spade. As a family, we're just not that good about putting everything in it's place every time.

Or, you could be a bit absent minded. Don't take offense at all, my son is absent minded as well. He does things without really realizing he's doing them, because his mind is on other things. Yep, it was my son who put my gardening spade in the shed, but when I asked where they were, he just didn't remember doing it. He was looking for something else, was holding the spade when he found it, put the spade down, picked up the other thing and left the spade there, without even realizing he had done so.

I agree with Handy. There are a lot of reasons for why you do this on a regular basis. Try organizing yourself better. Learn to make good habits of putting things in their place when you come in the house, rather than just setting things down places. A lot of people are just so over-loaded that it can be difficult to keep track of everything. It may be that when you are walking in the door your mind is on a million things, which is why you are not paying attention to where you are putting things down. Or it could be something else.

What you are experiencing is not uncommon. I have never heard of that spirit your friend is talking about. I think some people want to attach spirits to everything. *shrug*

I do this on a semi regular basis! LOL

One day I found my keys in the refrigerator.

One day my mother and I were searching for the remote... found out she had put it in the bathroom closet :lol

A cloak spirit? :bigfrown I don't think so.

Maybe it's God. It sounds like the thing who would do, the kind of little things that keep you always on your knees :thumbsup

I've found stuff in weird places before. The worst thing is when you remember where the item in question is after you stop looking for it and by the time you get around to hunting for it aqain you have forgotten its location!
