2 Pet 1:3-7
3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
James 3:1
1 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

XXX A disciple is a student or beginner, and they start in the milk understanding of the Word. They start out reading and learning and changing their beliefs. And looking for the Holy Spirit within them. They will find evidence at first one or more of the 9 gifts of the Spirit. They are not required to do anything but change their beliefs for the first 3 years. They are a hearer of the Word. Apostles are doers of the Word in the meat understanding.

18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes."
