This is really cool for finding out the miles or distances between cities or towns real fast.

Thank you Brother Lewis W, but what I need is a calculator to give me the distance between my address and the nearest McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts, KFC, and Taco Bell. I've got a car near two years old with less that 5000 miles that sometimes requires $30 per month to fuel. Can you imagine how I am saving these United States from further climate change; just ask any Democrat, and hurting our economy; ask any Republican. With a proper gauge to give me direction I might save another 10 miles driving allowing my brethren around this country to breathe one more day.

This is a good site, an abridged form of what google or mapquest offers. Using Driving directions on any of these mapping sites will also give you the driving distance and approximate driving time based on no stops and un-interrupted driving speeds. However, there's more gymnastics involved. With this it's a quick tool if planning say, a driving vacation somewhere and you need quick times/distance between towns and points of interest. It has it's place in usefulness.
