Do dogs lie?

I saw a show on TV that showed a woman returning home, looking through the window, and seeing her dog laying on the couch. (Where she was not supposed to be, by the way.) The woman opened the door and stepped inside to find the dog laying in her doggie bed. Cutest thing ever! But it got me thinking, do dogs lie? This dog knew it wasn't supposed to be on the couch. She also knew her doggie bed was safe territory. She (the dog) wanted the woman to believe that she had been in the doggie bed the whole time. Is this reasoning and calculated risk at work? Are dog's minds that complex? So on to the question.

Have you seen videos of dogs that have been trained to communicate via buttons? Bunny is the most famous dog for this. It seems to suggest that dogs are much more intelligent than we give them credit for! Cuz Bunny in particular has communicated some semblance of complex thought and questions.

They say that the smartest dogs have the intelligence of a human toddler.

I have owned four dogs as an adult . Two now .one is always near me and follows me and is opinionated. Willow ,lol. The other older one is quiet ,bella .

If willow barks a certain way ,bella gets in on it and grunts and whines.its dog park time .willow will back seat drive and knows the turns to the dog park and. Gets so estactic she will jump to the front driver seat if able .


Cheyenne a husky I had loved that park and got happy at the zenith of the bridge and barked . She would do it again. At the entrance.all of them once there and it's time to go got quiet and went home tired.willow knows after it's bath time and hides in the cage ,bella will go wherever and will not stand up or come to me to be bathed I have to carry her

When I make the last turn to the vet's office my little dog makes some pitiful sounds . Amazing how they learn the trips .

My two know when we take long trips and even know when we pack to go or leave they will run to the truck.i remember the first time willow did that
She got out and jumped in the truck and bella was whining to go
