View us as half children ... as in, not completely His children? What do you mean to find out?
As far as I know, God the Father loves us even as He loved Jesus,
John 17:23, I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
John 20:17 also makes it seems that we are to view God the same way as Jesus view God,
Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’”
Romans 8:14-17 and Ephesians 1:5 does use the word "adoption", is this what you mean by half-children?
