RE: Men as head of household
If it worked out the way God intended it would be fine...however most men just will not live Godly and a break down in the family structure happens. An ungodly man can not lead his family. As we all know, there are more women in chruch on Sunday morning, then men....a lot more.
Just as Christ is the head of the church, so is man to be head of the local church and the head of his house....I have no problem with this, if the man steps up and takes his rightful place, always putting God as his head...and treats his family the way he should...as God intended.....so many men interpret this to mean they can abuse their wife and family.....that was never what God intended....
it doesn't mean that women can not have a say in the church affairs, it just means that they should go through their husband and let him be the spokesman for the family, if he is a Godly man....
If the husband dies, then she turns to her eldest male relative to care for her...but as we all know,,,this rarely works out...most brothers-in-law, that I know, would never step in and assume the responsibility of his abandoned or dead brother's wife and children...
If the men did what they were supposed to do, and assumed the responsibility, we wouldn't have a problem....most women can't depend on relatives, so they end up being the Head of the House,,,which is not the way God intended the family structure to be.
Thank God for those who do....
