So what does CHRIST really mean when HE said: Do not think about tomorrow - for tomorrow shall take care of itself?

How does that apply to our lives?

500yrs ago when we were kids we used to take it out of context: wishing to polish off all food (against mom's instruction to reserve for the next day). So we quoted the verse: Never think about tomorrow - polish it off today

:lol2

It doesn't mean be stupid by not planning anything.

imo
It means to not Worry, trust the Lord in all things, including all your tomorrows.

God gives no strength for your tomorrows. He only gives strength for your todays. Tomorrow is not promise!

"Gives us this day our daily bread"

Jesus didn't say that. He said "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself." If we are going to lead normal lives, we will have to think about tomorrow and further into the future as well. But we don't have to worry. We can know that, whatever happens, God will take care of us.

Hi Classic,
read Matthew 6:34 further So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

The KJV and NKJV does state what Classic has quoted.

Any Christian that worry's or is anxious, or has any fear has a divided mind. This also includes whenever you bring in human wisdom or the world's view point. You have left the "Kingdom of God" and entered the "Worlds Kingdom". James 4:4 says, "you have become a enemy of God. If we want the things added to our lives don't breech security.

That's a translation tho. 10x

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added. Matthew 6:33 NKJV

Use the Lords prayer as a guide. When you say, " give us this day our daily bread", it means God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. God will do this in the natural and spiritual. In the natural this includes the hand of God, your peace, grace (unmerited favor of God), healing, love, marriage restoration, hedge of protection, no weapons formed against you will prosper, strength where you have been weaken, deliverance, sweet sleep, food, and all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. In the spiritual He will give you a word...my sheep know my voice. For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 NASB

The verse right before it explains what we are to do:

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33 KJV

Seek first the kingdom of God, and He will take care of our future. Obey God today.

"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Matthew 6:34 KJV

The Greek word translated as "thought" in the KJV is "merimnao". It means:

  1. To be anxious
    1. To be troubled with cares
  2. To care, look out for (a thing)
    1. To seek to promote one's interests
    2. Caring or providing for

Sounds a lot more like "worry" than "think" to me.

Thanks for posting the scripture book and verse. That is very helpful to others.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8 KJV

This means as a disciple (follower) of Lord Jesus Christ you have a undivided allegiance to see God's way. Your faith is totally on the Cross of Jesus Christ. Your heart is not divided between kingdoms. You will see God manifested in your life. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 KJV

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9 NASB

This means you are one with God, filled with His righteousness, and you want to bring others in a relationship with Lord Jesus Christ.

Righteousness = You believe God. Galatians 3:6 NIV
