Do the religons agree?

As a new Christian I have a problem! I know you may say hang around or keep studying or searching, but I see some people on this board of different sects and denominations most are believers in Christ but are at war with each other.

Is there not other more inportant areas to address then slamming each other day in and day out!

I understand and respect debates but, goodness everyone could you be a little more loving to one another. Is this not what Christ wants even in debate. I know you are being loving by being honest right is that what we will say!

To a new christian what I see is a whole lot of egotistical and prideful statements.

I read this board allot and especially see Protestant/Catholic/Orthodox attacking each other. I know there are different doctrines and this causes debate and thats fine, but when we go around attacking one another personally what does that say to the unsaved person who is looking at these boards.

I agree and disagree with each poster on different issues weather you are Orthodox/Protestant. So I appreciate the debate and even learn from them but not the meanness that comes out of it why would a person want to join any specific denomination when all we can do is try to prove each other wrong.

So I would like to start this thread and see what different denominations may agree on for once, just a thought to see if there are any similarities.

You make a good point and I suppose we should all check ourselves and our attitudes from time to time. Thanks for the heads up.

For me though, I debate mainly to learn. I've learned a lot of things through healthy debate so it's all good

Some feel it necessary to defend God's stance or whatever and that's fine too. But as you said...there's a limit, and when it gets personal or inflamatory is usually when it's time to stop and re-evaluate what we're doing

Amen! The goal of the Christians on this forum should be to glorfiy God and not oneself or denomination.
