do we have to live forever?

Idk I love Jesus but I'm just really worn out , I will live this life as my duty to christ, but I do not want to live after death. God is a personal god, surely hhe can understand and let me just stop existing after I die?

Sounds as if you need some encouragement my friend.

Perhaps it will help you if you keep in mind that our eternal life will be wholly free from the cares and worries and frustrations of this world.

thanks :)

yeah i know, but sometimes i think at that point it would kinda be a insult, cuz like i have had a pretty rough life, and i dont really see it getting where i want it to, and then one day ill be in heaven and everything is better, and then God is like "yo sorry about that earth life....want some heaven cake?" and i just rather like die and not exist

thanks :)

Is it fair to say that your "pretty rough life" here on Earth is the reason you came to know Christ? This life on Earth is not a practice life; God wants us to CHOOSE him when we have multiple choices on Earth and are often pressured not to choose God. That's when he knows we love Him. Heaven is a reward for that love, not a make-up for a bad Earth life.

I don't think He'll tell us He is sorry for our life here. I really don't.

What I believe is that we'll see some or all of the REASONS that life was so hard.
But more to the point, I think the change will be so overwhelming, that this life will fade into distant memory fast.

I know what you mean about tough times, heartache, etc. I have had what seems like more than my fair share in 51 years - but I remain content in the idea that what comes after will be .... well I'm without words - but it won't be like life here at all!

............. in fact, most of the time, I usually think: "Well, Lord, you can take me outta here ANYTIME!"

I just hope that heaven is a lot like the deep forest in mountainous country! To me, going on a never-ending hike on a wooded, mountainous trail would be heaven. I already spend wonderful time with God there.
