Do we recieve mansions in heaven?

Besides having mansions or not having them, I wonder what else heaven is like? In Revelation 21:1 it talks about a "new heaven and new earth". Does that mean heaven is going to be on a round earth like planet like the one we live on now?

Yes,the New Earth will be the new heaven.Although their will be a new heaven that is above the New Earth created.I am not sure what our roll will be in that.If we as the Bride will have access to that.

You know Jeff, I have looked at this a bit and what I have understood is that God will restore or make new the Earth after He destroys it with fire and after He replenishes the earth, then Heaven descends and is here on the Earth for all eternity.

That is something we don't know for sure.I know that their are rewards in heaven but we don't know what that totally includes except crowns.

Agree...it's not offered as proof, just saying what other people have seen.

Also, I don't think it's about needing a house...it's about a heavenly reward, and God giving us something that will make us happy.

My wife and I are planning on at least as awesome an abode so, perhaps we will be neighbors.

From the time of my conversion I have sought to be, ever, closer to my LORD and as a result have sought after more understanding of Him, Our Father, the Holy spirit and the Heavenly abode. and being an observer of people i have the tendency to measure their thoughts against what is revealed to us, both in black and white and what is revealed between the lines by meditation on the Word, Prayer and the resulting revelation of the matter through the guidance of the Holy Spirit that took up residence in my life that night, 15 minutes before midnight, December 31, 1989.

This next statement is most often considered self righteous judgment but, in truth, the scriptures bear it out to be truth. Almost all of the Word's population will reside in Hell and not in Heaven and my studies have revealed, such, a wide assortment of Primary Reasons. Jesus, Himself, taught us that wide is the path and the gate that leads to destruction but narrow and straight the path to salvation but folks love to gloss over this passage and to ignore it.

Of the reason, numerous, for failure, it looks to me as if most of the failure to go home with Jesus is rooted in greed. In conversations this greed is revealed, quite, readily if we will pay attention to ourselves and to our loved ones, especially. I have had any number of people become, just, short of physical violence over the idea that all of us are purchased from the Slave Block and that some of us, the servants of God have the Spiritually awl Piercing. I have even been told that an individual was in no manner a slave but was, rather, a son of God and as such, God owed Him!

I'm not trying to walk on toes here but I have been guilty of this and have repented as I have grown in the faith and for everyone's edification I say this; What comes out of the mouth comes the heart of a man! Over and over I have heard tales of the individual's mouths, tales of the splendor that will "belong" to them because they earned it in their service to God. God owes none, none, a thing! Because I dug into the scriptures, took time to study ancient customs my understanding of God's house is that it, if one corner were set in downtown Houston, would stretch from there into downtown LA to the west and would run the same distance to the North into Canada and regardless of where it is located on the New earth, will be that tall... WOW!

It will not, in truth, matter to me where My little room will stand as long as I can sit at His feet and serve Him. Will I receive that room? The scriptures alert me to work out my salvation and I understand that not to be worried if I am saved but to be faithful to the end and as I have crashed into this silly $15,000.00 motorized chair and my own Hospital Bed, I have not retired from the service of my King. I have found new methods of serving my King by learning new skills on my computers and my young Pastor, bless his pea pickin' heart, keeps finding new skills he needs me to learn to serve the Churches needs.

A formers Pastor, nick named Preacher, used to say he was going to plow his row, plum the the fence and arriving there, he just wanted to fall over that fence into Heaven. Just as Preacher did until he passed over, I'm plowing.

That's a cool looking house. As long as it's solid (?) It could be a real cool low profile house. As long it is solid and dependable, I am more into it than I am into flashy. I like low profile vehicles! Sleepers. Gives the impression of junk and may deter thieves but is a good vehicle. Could this house be of the same sort, or real rattle trap?

I think that there is mansions in heaven, and also rooms in Gods house. It may have to do with rewards. But the question then is...are the mansions the bigger reward, and the rooms for the lesser in heaven, or the rooms in Gods house the bigger reward being in a closer proximity to God?

Along the same lines...the scripture which says, the last shall be first and the first last...could this be a reference to the least in heaven going first in line for the rewards, and the "first" in heaven (more accomplished/devoted men of God, with bigger rewards) going last? Maybe.

This Earth will not be destroyed.It will be cleansed possibly by fire and the New heaven and New Earth will be on this planet we now inhabit.It will be entirely changed to the way it was in Adam and Eve time.

Why would spiritual bodies need sleep? And if we did, why would we need a house to sleep in when there's no danger for us whatsoever?

The housing metaphor in John 14 is merely a metaphor, telling us there is a place awaiting us where we will be home.

It will be all new and the old earth will be passed away.But it will still be the earth.The earth does not get destroyed and explode into nothing.The tribulation will be over.All those coming into the Millennium will be Christians.They will be coming in as Christians who have survived the tribulation.And there will not be alot of them.They will be allowed to marry and have children during the millennium.Some of those Children will come against God.They will join Satan at the last of the Millennium at a huge battle.After that the Great White Throne Judgment.
