Do Women Dress Appropriately for church??

The Church is becoming more of a worldly type! Don't you think its inappropriate for woman to "under dress" in any fashion when they are in the House of worship? Ladies like to be more stylish, which I feel they're deliberately being provocative.

What are your thoughts?

I think it comes down to the services not being taken seriously. They (men too) attend church services more for the social interaction than for the spiritual growth.

I think how and why they dress should between them and God

There dress should not be provacative for weak men like me. Other than that they are my sisters weather they are in blue jeans for sequins

This brings up another point. I'm going to give this some thought and maybe open a new thread to talk about it.

Well, on these subjects, I think it’s safer to look at what scripture says, rather than subject someone else’s choice of clothing, hairstyle, or whatever to the judgment of my own personal tastes and preferences.

James wrote on the subject of how we are to look at the outward physical appearance of others in our churches. Although he talks specifically about rich men’s and poor men’s clothing and showing favoritism to the rich, I can see no reason why the same principle would not apply to all of us regarding how we see others based on their style of dress. That principle seems to be that we not judge each other “with evil thoughts†based on outward appearance.

“My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism. Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here's a good seat for you,†but say to the poor man, “You stand there†or “Sit on the floor by my feet,†have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?†(James 2:1-4)
If we are to judge someone because of their choice of clothing in church, it should be based on the intent of their heart rather than on the outward appearance itself. This also applies to those who dress specifically to draw attention to how “pious†they appear. Since it is much harder to know an individual’s heart, it’s probably best to teach good Christian principles from our pulpits, and let God be the judge of hearts!

So that’s my thoughts.

I think women should always dress modestly (as opposed to provocatively).
