Do you believe in fate?

Do you believe our lives are determined by fate? One thing I've concidered recently is genetic predisposition to certain diseases. For example, if a man dies from cancer later in life due to a cancer that he was predisposed to developing because of a genetic trait he inherited from his father would you consider that fate?

.

1 Corinthians 2:7-9 , Isaiah 64:4
Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.

While God has given man free will to make own choices and decisions, ultimately even wrong decisions by man can be used by God and turned around by God for good. For God works all things for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

The Bible says that the lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord (Proverbs 16:33). God is indeed in total control of every area of our lives even when we sin, make wrong choices or bad decisions. There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord (Proverbs 21:30). To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

Many sicknesses, diseases and sins can pass down through generations, but these are curses that can be broken in the name of Jesus Christ.

Galatians 3:13-14
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree" ), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

No, I don't believe that. Certain things about us, our bodies, our life, cannot be avoided because of what we inherit genetically. Therefore, we must lead our life in such a manner as not to provoke the genes. A clean life inside and out. Then we must trust God to keep HIS promises about eternity.
