Do you believe that dead loved ones can communicate to us in our sleep?

Ecclesiastes 9:5,6 Tells us that the dead know nothing. Their love, hatred and envy have perished and they have no part on anything done under the sun.
I know we dream of our loved ones who have died. I don't believe it is they who are doing this,, they are unable to.

Thanks in advance.
I wouldn't allow myself to believe it. I would aliken it to paranormal activity the likes of poltergeist, ghosts and spiritism. Whenever someone allows themselves to go into those realms of behaviour, they are breaking the obvious laws of nature - and we know that only God has power to overrule the laws of nature. But there are examples of the magicians in Egypt and the spirit mediums mentioned in scripture, which show that there is some disloyalty in the human approach to God and even the heavenly representatives of Him. It is written "I, Adonai, search the heart and try the mind in order to give each man according to his deeds, the fruit of his ways", and Jesus has told us "the thief comes for naught but to steal, kill and destroy, but I have come that they may have life, and life abundantly". He also said "noone comes to the father except through me", and so we can see that if any angelic beings are representing God in a way that doesn't lead us to Jesus Christ, they are a thief and of Satan, ultimately looking to destroy us for our disloyalty and to use us in their plan of destruction.

Therefore I would say the similar things about dreams wherein a dead ancestor is appearing to communicate with you: it is obviously appointed by God for some purpose, whether to search your heart or to make you think about something that only that kind of dream can do, though if it is of the deceiver then perhaps it is not directly the work of God (eg: 1 Kings 22:19-23, James 1:13). I think you just are better to ask God why He has permitted you to have that dream, because whether it is a deceiving spirit pretending to be your ancestor or if it is the spirit of your ancestor, it's still God's decision to have given you that experience (Hebrews 12:9 the father of spirits, and Ecclesiastes 12:7 the spirit returns to God who made it).

Thanks in advance.
The scripture says not to consult the dead, so it is better to not believe what they said in the dream.

However, once I had a dream that my parents were in, but the dream was not about them. They actually represented God who was saying something to me at that time. So, it was God communicating something to me indirectly, about something other than what was said by them.

My dad died in January of 2015 at the age of 80. It was a natural death. It was his time. I was with him in the ICU when he passed away.

A few days later I was in a deep sleep when something happened that had never happened before or since. I was in a deep sleep when I felt something happen within my head. It was if I had become fully conscious and I was suddenly teleported to my parent's dining room. Thereupon I saw my father sitting at the table, as he always did, and he had a big smile on his face. I knew he was dead and I was amazed to see him! I exclaimed "Dad, you're alive!". I ran to him and hugged him and he hugged me back. He had a smile from ear to ear. He then said "I had a stroke". And then it all went away. The next morning I awoke and immediately told my mother.

The teleportation feeling was nothing like I had ever experienced. I had a seemingly physical experience and was completely conscious, or so it seemed. I've never experienced anything like it before or since.

By the way, I didn't seek this experience. I know not to delve into such things.

I know most will doubt me, but I believe my father was permitted to come to me and let me know that he was alive and well. Perhaps this was a reward for my faith.

I seem to remember having dreams so vividly of events and places like that. The imagination really does take place in the mind where the memories abide, and so it's not unusual that it would be remembered as vividly as a real experience. It seems to be that the tone and the impact has been for the purpose of helping you to cope with grief, and the non-religious views would attribute its origin to your own subconsciousness. The mystic's view is more likely see it as a message from God (or a non-Christian placeholder for God), so the Christian view has to decide whether the event was from your imagination, a message from God, or some divine encounter with the spirits departed.

I'm inclined to see that it is most likely a gift from God to you, from His heart that loves you, to give you peace of mind in your time of grief.

After my mother died I had a strange experience she was shaking my bed to waken me up. I don't believe it was her though. 6 weeks after she died my husband died and I had several dreams of him. They were just dreams but they were a confort.

my wife lost her son in a misscarraiage.Monica his youngest sister not knowing of him wore a shirt bought for him at age 7.he visited her in dream and was wearing his shirt at 7 and said I an your brother why are you wearing my shirt ?

be careful it could be the devil doing things. dead sleep and will awaken when he comes and they will be revived.

my,wife told me of it and years later Monica verified it .

I'm not basing theology on it but perhaps the aborted babies and miscarried do visit .

this falls under the fables section ,we don't know .can't say the idea of soul sleep is true either
