When I'm shopping in a store that has narrow Isles, and somebody wants to get passed me down the isle. Sometimes I may need to hug the side of the isle, even standing on my toes, so they can get by. Then that person proceeds to move to go passed me, but stops directly behind me and begins looking at things on the opposite shelf, leaving me hugging the other side of the isle while standing on my toes. I'm thinking, HELLO!!!!, I know I don't need to explain why this is wrong, do I? Some people :missyou lol

Tailgating and passing on the shoulder are two of my greatest pet peeves on the road.

Tailgating doesn't get anyone to their destination any faster but while they are doing it, it endangers their own lives and anyone else in their vehicles like their children and other loved one, but also the lives of the vehicle they are tailgating as well as the lives of anyone in vehicles around them. It's the primary reason for multi-car pileups.

Passing on the shoulder, especially where there is a crossroad is particularly dangerous. I was on my way to work one morning and came upon a school bus stopped at a crossroad waiting to make a left turn. There was a vehicle behind the bus and then me. Now, most of the time I try to be aware of what's going on around me but that morning I was totally caught by surprise when a vehicle suddenly went past me on my right side. There's a reason the law and the road signs say, "Right lane must turn right." There was no way that vehicle could have seen if there was another vehicle making a left turn in front of that bus. If there was, he would have T-Boned him for sure and probably killed or seriously injured himself and others in his vehicle as well as the vehicle he'd hit and possibly even some of the children on the bus.

"I'm thinking, HELLO!!!"

I can see your face. lol.......

People in the grocery store. Oof... Yeah.

When there are people going both ways with carts and they stop next to each other creating an entire isle traffic jam.

Oh, and you can't go back down the isle, there are 7 people behind you now..

The worst........ :Haaah

Some drivers look several blocks to a half mile or more ahead to see what traffic is present.
It is easy to see past a stopped vehicle , to note if there is any traffic coming at all .
A good driver is well able to adjust accordingly without risk . (the bigger risk is from other drivers)

Yes and no, but I do have to ask. As a Christian, how do you justify doing something illegal such as passing on the shoulder?

Mass of slow drivers. In my electric utility days of there was a meter on that side .I drove that way to get a read. I was on a time hack . I did drive on a side walk also

Usually it's young drivers who tailgate. In winter, I wonder how some people can ride five feet off of my bumper while it's snowing and as Bear Grilles would say, it's slippy.

I haven't had problems with people passing on the shoulder.

I worked with a guy who owned a van. He said that no matter how fast he would drive, people always wanted to go around and pass him because they couldn't see past his van. I can relate to that. I guess that would be another pet peeve of mine. I like to see the cars in front of the car that is in front of me. If possible. I don't feel comfortable otherwise. It's a great advantage to avoid accidents.

I always say that Nascar drivers probably secretly train in Walmart while pushing a cart. That hugging the isle thing, that happens a lot. Way to much.

Since we talking shopping cart , can everyone just put the carts where they go when you are done using them ? It is not that hard to do !

Mine are when people want something for nothing and get upset when I refuse to do it because it's part of the job .I can refuse that if I feel it is gonna create a problem

Free battery installs ,no hybrids , difficult installs .

Ie move the seat or wiring to access the battery .

And get accused of being lazy by a mgr from another store . That boy hates batteries all the stuff to replace a belt on my mom's car I had to remove the tire ,the plastic fender cover and then the belt .

If I break clips I can fix it without the customer crying plus the store mgr wanting to know why a clip broke and he has to eat the cost .

Would not liking the music playing over the speakers at big box stores be considered a pet peeve? While there can be exceptions for good songs (just today, I heard Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-changing" at Wal-Mart), most often they seem do mostly do the annoying kinds of pop-rock.

I think that if a store were to not have a sound system, so that people could shop in comparative silence, I'd likely shop there. Especially this time of year, where I've already had enough of really bad Christmas music.
