Doctrine must match up with the Bible…not the Bible must match up with the Doctrine.

God is the final authority and if ones doctrine does not match up with His word then that doctrine is useless and must be thrown out. Pure and simple.

Completely agree with ya  I think almost every group though will claim that "their" doctrine does match up with the Bible... the interpretations of man are what confounds us.

Thats why it is good to believe the way you believe, but you must allow the spirit to correct your beliefs if they don't agree with the bible. Doctrine is a good thing when it lines up with the bible, and evil when it doesn't. The problem is the gray area, but the good thing is the gray area really doesn't matter in God's grand scheme of things. There are certain things that are not arguable, like without Jesus's saving grace you are in a lot of trouble.

Hi there!

I appreciate what my pastor says... "What does the Word of God have to say about that?"

I rarely if ever hear the doctrinal stance preached from our minister.

We focus on how to become better Christians and how to serve one another.

Take Once Saved Always Saved.

I know that our minister doesn't believe that doctrine, yet he has never said what he believes when he is preaching. It isn't important to him or to anybody else in our church to talk about such a doctrine because that takes the focus off Jesus and puts it on our understanding of doctrine.
