My Mom married someone from the Christadelphian faith, and she has converted and been baptised into that religion. I know some of the doctrine they teach, and much of it seems unscriptural, although they claim scripture as the basis for their teachings. I know there are many diverse views on the doctrines of the Bible, but I wanted to know if anyone has been involved with, or knows someone who has or is involved with this religion.
The basic views of it are:
Jesus is the Son of God, but he is not God. They do not support the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is not a personal entity.
There is no hell, and no Satan.
People cease to exist when they die. Their "spirit" goes back to God (it is the breath of God).
Only people who are deemed worthy to serve in Christ's kingdom will be raised to life to serve with Christ for 1000 years in Jerusalem.
Everyone else will be raised for judgement, and then die (cease to exist).
No-one is in heaven now except God & Jesus.
Satan is any form of sinful temptation -- it can be a person, place, or thing, but not a real personal being.
Hell is not real, but we will experience hell when we realize that we have been judged and will not serve with Christ.
I am not sure of what they think will happen after the 1000 year reign. My Mom mentioned that they didn't know what would happen after that, because she says it doesn't say specifically.
Any comments or discussion would be appreciated.
Thanks,
