Charity is the mystery to knowing God, the Father and Jesus Christ.
It is always taught in the Gospel about humbleness, and knowledge puffs up ( a fleshy mind) but it is charity ( that mystery of God) which edifies ( gives the knowledge of God and edifies the soul.)
Charity as opposed to knowledge alone, cannot be puffed up, also without charity nobody could possibly believe in Jesus Christ as Lord, saviour Lord God, because charity alone rejoices in the truth, believes ( all things of Christ) and hopes all things ( of Christ. We are saved by this hope. (Romans 8:24.)
Romans 8:24 FOR WE ARE SAVED BY HOPE: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
1 Corinthians 8:1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
1 Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1 Corinthians 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Also we are saved by the grace ( of Jesus Christ.)
Then, He, ( Jesus Christ our loving Lord and Saviour) may grant us ( in the riches of His glory) to be strengthened by His Spirit, Christ to then dwell in our hearts by faith ( charity is greater than faith, as faith without charity is nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:2. James 2:26.)
By Christ we are then rooted and grounded in love, to comprehend with all Saints, to know the love of Christ, passing the knowledge that is puffed up without charity.
1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (BY GRACE YE ARE SAVED;)
Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
It was a great conflict for the Apostles, for believers hearts to be knit together in this love ( of Christ.) because it is the riches of that full assurance of understanding ( not being without charity, and understanding all mysteries, and still being nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:2) to confess the acknowledgment of this mystery of God, of the Father and of Jesus Christ, the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge, ( charity is greater than understanding all mysteries.) to never be beguiled by mans enticing words. ( the wisdom of this world is without the charity of Jesus Chris, and then is foolishness and unedified.)
1 Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
Colossians 2:1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
The divine power of God gives all we needed for godliness, to give all we need for life ( charity.)
This is the knowledge ( of Christ) who called us unto glory and virtue. We escape from lust from this world.( the mockers in these last times walk after their own ungodly lusts)
Making all diligence to add to our faith ( remember without charity, all faith is nothing.) virtue, knowledge ( knowledge puffs up, so charity is what edifies.) adding temperance, patience and godliness, ( in tribulations patience is worked in us, giving experience, giving hope, for us to not be ashamed, because the love of God is shed into ou8r hearts by the Holy Ghost given to us.)
Then brotherly kindness ( charity is kind.) is added to our faith, which is adding charity, and when these are in us and abound, we are fruitful in the truth of the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, then an entrance has been made unto us into the Kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, this is us established in the present truth, making our calling and election sure.
Romans 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Jude 1:17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.
