I think you are asking the wrong question.
Perhaps the right question would be : Does God choose atheists .. or ... Does God save atheists ?

If that is the right question, then of course the answer is ..... YES !

:thumbsup

Depends on how your god operates. If you are on the side of Everyone knows Yahweh exists, then atheists don't exist. if you are not, then atheists do exist, and since your god knows everything, he knows about them.

Technically, the answer would be NO! The moment that you believe in Christ you are no longer an atheist but you are now a new creation, you are a Christian. But He does save FORMER atheists. :-) Sorry, just having fun!!

Well, God certainly doesn't have to believe in atheists (or anyone else, for that matter) as we believe in Him. We cannot say what it is like to have this God's eye perspective of everything, but of course  as Tina noted above  God can choose anyone He wills for whatever purpose He wills.

Are there prominent atheists in the Scripture who later became believers?
