does god give dreams

i knew god gave dreams in the bible because of joseph, daniel, joseph(new testament) but does he give dreams today? and what is the purpose of them? do they teach or explain things? dreams come with so many symbols, and how do you know what they mean?

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. I believe God speaks to us through His Word and Holy Spirit, through audible voice, through other people, through visions and through dreams ... Of course, in today's context, He could also speak to us through television, radio and internet. After all, He is omnipotent and omnipresent. When you have a dream and believe it is from God but do not understand it, you can pray and ask God to reveal the meaning behind the dream. God answers but most of the time, dreams from God are easy and straightforward for one to understand. You can also talk to Church pastors or friends if the dream mean something significant to you. God may speak through them.

The reason why I asked about dreams is because I had a dream that I thought was very strange. I dreamed about my dead parents. They were living in this house and I was there. My dad had these little pieces of wood strips that he was trying to make a fire. And also along with these pieces of Styrofoam that I thought was strange because you don't make a fire with Styrofoam. Anyway things were happening with my mom too. She went outside to light a switch or something. But they lived in squalor in the dream I was there helping them. And then there was this man who came to see about them and said that they had to leave because they couldn't take care of themselves, but I told him I was there. He said that I need to have four or five people living there to keep them from being moved. And what was strange was my mom's face. She had some kind of wound on her forehead that was bleeding but it was bleeding green stuff. I just thought it was interesting that I would dream about them and they are dead.

How long are your parents dead? Were they saved when they died?

It's normal to dream about dead loved ones especially if they died recently. I cannot say for sure what the dream means as I do not really know anything about you or your parents or family. But I pray that God will reveal something to you.

My mom has been dead for about 4 years, my dad dead for 10 years. i do not know if they were christians, my dad probably not, my mom, not sure. about me, they were my foster parents ,not my biological parents. i took care of them a lot when they moved to another state. what was going on their house is close to what was going on when they lived by themselves.

Right now in my life I am going through a lot of spiritual stuff in connection with ritual abuse. It's been something that I am dealing with because God has got me in this place right now. I have been a dreamer all of my life, and have them every night. I realize some dreams are the result of our own minds, but there are some, I believe God gives. I'm not sure where this one fits in or if it does at all. I know God can speak through a lot of things, and I know he does speak through his word as in my devotions this morning I read in Isaiah 65:24a that" It shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer". I took that in response to my questions to him that He would answer me right away.

I don't claim to have the gift of interpretation of dreams, but when I read your last posts, something came to my mind ....

Right now in my life I am going through a lot of spiritual stuff in connection with ritual abuse.

This gave me a picture of a "third eye". A "third eye" located on the centre of the forehead, is used to describe the ability to see evil spirits. I don't know what was the religious or pagan background of your parents, but when you shared that you went through a lot of spritual stuff in connection with ritual abuse, I am concerned about you now. Receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior is an awesome first step you have taken and I'm proud of you, however there's a whole lot more to living a victorious Christian life free from past baggages and bondages. You need to sever ties with past rites and rituals that you had been subjected to, and every ungodly evil spirits that were allowed into your life. You need to forgive your parents if they put you through all this. These are just some of the main steps for a complete deliverance and to set you free into the fullness of what God wants you to be.

Tina, it's kind of interesting that you mentioned the 'third eye', because I am counseling in counseling with a woman who I was telling about not being able to look at people in the eye because that means they have control over you. It's kind of a lot to explain but right now I have just started dealing with a lot of this stuff. I mean it is now coming up I guess as it is God's timing for it to be exposed. I am not sure about my foster parents as they are dead. I asked about dreams do to the nature of what I have been dreaming for a long time years I would say and also that memories are interspersed into my dreams and have been for years and years but I did not understand. i'm just started on this journey. Yes I would like help prayer etc.
