Does Jesus want us to be United in One Church or Divided?

Hi,

Hopefully we can get through the language barrier....this is a quote from Paul to the Corinthians....

1 Corinthians 1:10 (KJV)
10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Yes, that's what I mean. Then the world will be saved, if they see the unity. John 17:21-23 and then Psalm 133. There the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

Yes...that what the scripture says.

1Chronicles 15:16

New Living Translation (NLT)

16 David also ordered the Levite leaders to appoint a choir of Levites who were singers and musicians to sing joyful songs to the accompaniment of harps, lyres, and cymbals.

2 Chronicles 5:13

King James Version (KJV)

13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord;

The cloud, the Holy Spirit filled the sanctury, the Lord must have been pleased.

Several of the Psalams written by King David as he praised and worshipped the Lord mention the lyre or harp that he played.
I just heard the other day. A pastor made a trip to Israel and while he was there he went to Israel's school of music. They told him that the jewish harp has 22 strings, each string represents one of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. The pastor asked them if they had ever played the Psalms by using the strings that represented the letters in the words. They told him that they had never thought about it. Hmm..someone must have. Which end of the series of strings would be the Alef, the first letter. Then you could figure them out from there.
Personally I think the Lord loves music, the angels sing in heaven. If He was please so much with the singing and instruments of the Isrealites that He sent His Spirit to be with them He enjoyed it a lot.

As we read on in 1 Corinthians we see that they had all kinds of problems. They were not functioning as a body in anyway and Paul layed down the law. He told them how things should be done to have peace in all ways. We see that the ultimate goal was peace not strife. We are to operate in the Law of Love. We are not to be puffed up or riotous.

I already see all born again believers as the one church. I don't judge anyone by the church they attend. All born again believers are the brotheren. Jesus will straighten it all out in the end. It will probably surprise all of us what His worship and praise and church services are like. I'll about bet they are different then we are used to.

As times get harder I think we will see many churches setting aside their differences and coming together, get worshiping the same Lord and Savior, the rest of it won't really matter so much.

This is one of the major causes of division today, Jesus created the New Testament Church, nowhere is it ever recorded in the Bible of New Testament Church using musical instruments other than the vocal cords in worship, nowhere is it commanded to do so, if musical instruments are what make HIM happy, he would have commanded it or revealed it in the scripture as a form of worship...

Man has changed worship to please themselves more than to please HIM...

I am glad He does not do like he did in the Old Testament, Nadab and Abihu thought they would add a little liking to the worship of the Lord and he struck them dead.

Leviticus 10:1-2 (KJV)
1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. 2 And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

Notice it does not say he told them not to do that, it says they did something he did not tell them to do.

As long as man continues to please himself while he worships, and not just what the Bible teaches, there will be division.

I hope your right, but I think not and I hope I am in the minority, he said :

Matthew 7:14 (KJV)
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

And as for all those Churches out there that think they are doing it right, Here our Lord is talking about people that call themselves Christians (notice the part that says "in thy name?" that refers to those who professed to do it by his authority as only a Christian would do) :

Matthew 7:22-23 (KJV)
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I don't want anyone to hear him say that, especially me, but he will because I believe him, so unless there can be (Like Paul so vigorously stressed) UNITY then most will perish.

Unity is found in His Love, and His love is how we know that we are united with Him and His True Church. If He says I never knew you, its because one never knew His Love!

1Jn 4:7

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
1Jn 4:8

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1Jn 4:9

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
1Jn 4:10

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1Jn 4:11

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

1Jn 4:12

No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us

Here is those who He never knew because they knew not His Love
They do not keep the "royal law" and they work inquity

I believe that he wants us to be in one Church.

Anyone disagree?

I would think it likely in the resurrection there will be just one church, though many local churches where we can have fellowship.

For now, though, that would concentrate a whole lot of power in the hands of a very few - the leaders of that church. People can't be trusted with that much power, I don't think.

Depends on where you want to meet? some never want to go to the Cross and die to this world. They love their own lives and lust for the things of this world. The true Church is beyond the Cross in the "Spirit" and it is already united by the Cross and the Work of Christ Jesus. We will not go back to Egypt nor Sodom to have a get-together with the "carnal church".

Joh 4:23

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Joh 4:24

Godisa Spirit: and they that worship him must worshiphimin spirit and in truth.

Come on into "The Spirit" , and then you will understand that the "True Church" is already united!:yes
