Does satan really hate God?

I have always been told that satan hates God. Recently though it came to my attention that satan is helping Him. If satan truly did hate God then why would he help Him by playing the bad guy and fulfilling biblical prophecies and revelations? Why would satan play his role at all? Wouldn't it be smarter to do nothing and discredit God and the bible? Wouldn't satan be better known as an accomplice to God, because by doing what he's doing he is fulfilling Gods plan?

My understanding of Satan is infantile. However, my guess is that Satan is jealous lf the Lord.
