Does science prove or disprove the Bible?

If anything, it does more to disprove portions of it than anything. I don't understand how science could 'prove' the bible. In what sense?

Why expect an evolution debate? There are many angles and branches of science incompatible with biblical literature, ranging everywhere from astronomy to archaeology.

Maths is science and it proves the Bible is the Word of God.

Look up Ivan Panin. He was a Russian mathematician and an atheist, until he applied maths to the original Hebrew and Greeks texts. He found a pattern that runs through the whole Bible and the pattern broke down, when he left our one letter.

It dose neither. Science's point is to describe how everything works around us. Religion is the spiritual explanation of how things are and how they should be.

The two worlds only over lap when a science points out observational evidence that goes against a religious view.

Though it needs to be noted that most religions that contain gods or deities would exist outside the laws of physics, making them untestable.


In short, some parts of religion doesn't mesh with science all that well, but sciences isn't trying to disprove religion in the first place. ;)

Hmmmm, archeology is a science, correct?
They set out to prove King David never existed. They wound up proving he did.
They set out to prove there was no Jericho and of course it didn't fall in one day if it did exist. They wound up proving it did and it did.
There is dishonesty and bias involved but if you'll notice, the non-believers sometimes have an agenda and are more dishonest and biased than the objective professionals.
