I'm notoriously stingy donating money to charity. It's an area I need to work on.
But here is a situation. See what you think.
A major supermarket I visit. When you pay for your items at self service...
Example. Total 37.60...you get a question .
" Want to round that up to 38 dollars by donating money to our charity?"
It is a small amount of money. But ...
I go shopping 4 times a week.
It's just a bit sneaky. That's all.
Maybe I have doubts too, whether the money really goes to those in need.

Stop going shopping 3/4/5 times a week, check your shelves, think about what you will cook during the week, make a shopping list and stick to it.
That way you won't have so many impluse buyers and won't be asked so often for donations.
As to giving to charity, I prefer to give to the charity of my choice. Find one you like what it's doing , start giving to it and getting feedback from it and praying for it.

I believe it is very sneaky.
And just what is their favorite charity.
Who do you ask that question to before you make a decision
How long would you hold up the line?
What if you debated the whole process?

Things like this only work because people don't care.

OK Rollo Tamasi here's my reply:

I would not round out any amount because of a charity of which I know nothing about.

I would be more charitable if hubby agreed with me.
I prefer personal type charity - giving to persons you know and that are in need.

As to other charities....they're fine with me if they're legitimate.
And once someone has given the amount they feel comfortable with, they should not worry too much about what happens to the money...
they've done what they had to do in the Kingdom of God and that's the best they could do.

Of course, if I found out my donation was being squandered, I'd stop donating.

Can't think of anything else.

And I agree with everything you've stated.
