Shalom,
Jer 29:12 'Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
Jer 29:13 'You will seek Me and find {Me} when you search for Me with all your heart.
Jer 29:14 'I will be found by you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.'
In verse 12 the word translated "pray" may not totally fit with your concept of it's meaning.
palal {paw-lal'}
1) to intervene, interpose, pray
a) to mediate, judge
b) as in;
1) to intercede
2) to pray
Do you notice anything to be missing in this definition from what your concept of prayer may be? In the next verse YHVH specifies what is missing!
Jer 29:13 'You will seek Me and find {Me} when you search for Me with all your heart.
baqash {baw-kash'}
1) to seek, require, desire, exact, request
a) as in;
1) to seek to find
2) to seek to secure
3) to seek the face
4) to desire, demand
5) to require, exact
6) to ask, request
b) to be sought
As a child did you ever play, "Hide and Seek"? When it was time for you to "seek" did you just stand there and say something like, "Ok, make yourself known to me?" or did you have to go after the others? Did you have to make an active effort to "Find" them? What makes you think you will not have to do the same with YHVH?
The word "baqash " (seek) is a verb. It is an action word. It requires something to be done.
Because of this I must ask you, "What are you "doing" to find YHVH"? Are you still standing by the tree waiting for HIM to move and expose HIMself to you or are you actively pursuing, going after, looking for HIM while HE can still be found? There is a time coming when HE will not be found by those who are here.
Mat 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
Mat 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
Mat 25:9 But the wise answered, saying, [Not so]; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
Mat 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Mat 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
Mat 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Will you be found lacking when HE comes? Will you have the oil of HIS SPIRIT lighting your lamp when HE comes? Will HE be present with you?
Notice that in this parable the ones being spoken about are those who claim to be in the church. Those who are claiming to be ready for HIS coming. Don't fool yourself for there will be no liars in Heaven. You cannot tell yourself you are ready when you are not. That would be a lie! If you do not have HIS presence with you, you are not ready, no matter how much of HIM you know of HIM in your head or think you have of HIM in your heart. A relationship requires an experience with someone.
If there is any doubt! If it has been a while since you have actively experienced HIS presence in your life! Then "seek HIM while HE may still be found! Don't be locked out! Don't miss the boat! Don't miss HIS coming!
