Has anyone played it? I love RPGs and am always looking for a good one. It gets great reviews but I would like to hear from someone first hand.

I haven't played it, Free. I am currently enjoying the 1990s game Diablo 2 with a new mod added on.

I picked it up about 2 weeks ago and have managed to play about 3 hours of it so far. Great RPG overall. The graphics are not at the pinnacle and are really just average but the story and world created by Bioware is immense and has depth. The gameplay is also classic action / turn based hybrid with many different ways to approach combat or dialogue depending on which class you choose for your character.

Great game so far!

If you have played Baldur's Gate or any of those series' this game with be instantly familiar to you. And why not? It's by the same company. They took all that experience with those games and delivered an amazing product. I strongly recommend it.

My son speaks highly of this game and I suspect that I know what will be under my tree this year (don't tell him that I know, shhhhh...)

He plays on a PS3 system - connected to a high def TV and the graphics are top of the line. There are more than 100 enjoyable playing hours and I pretty much know where my spare time will go during the New Year.

It's costly though. Actually too pricey for me and probably a good idea to check the minimum PC requirements to see if your graphics card is able to handle it.

That's going back a ways. One of the Diablo games was what really got me interested in RPGs.

I have Dungeon Seige 2 and have finished it a couple of times. I enjoyed it but am looking for something better.

Still going at it? lol I've heard that there are many hours to be had. Even Dungeon Siege takes a long time the first time through.

Yeah, I've definitely heard of Baldur's Gate but never played any of them. There was another that came out 2-4 years ago but I can't remember the name. My computer at the time wouldn't have been able to handle it, so I didn't bother.

This computer should be able to handle anything I throw at it. It's pretty new and has some pretty good specs.

Now to convince the wife that I needs it.

So Aero, how goes the battle(s)? I've been researching it a little more lately and it looks really good.

Getting excited Sparrowhawke? You going to wake up at 5am on Christmas and jump up and down on the kids' beds to get them up?

My wife and I weren't going to do gifts for each other this year since we buy enough stuff throughout the year and we prefer Christmas giving through ministries like GFA or Samaritan's Purse for people who actually need something, like food, but she just bought a fancy pair of slippers for herself online so I might just pick up this game for myself. I just don't know if I need another reason to sit in front of a computer, since I do that all day already.

I stalled out when COD MW2 hit. Been playing that with my buddies a lot and also Forza 3. I have too many games to play right now. However, I will absolutely be getting back into it over the next couple of weeks.
